(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a> <strong>number 1481 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>848</p> <p>Ḳiṣṣa-i-Malik Muḥammad u Shahrbânû ( قصّۀ ملك محمّد و شهربانو).</p> <p>The romance of prince Malik Muḥammad and Shahrbânû (according to the Bodleian Cat., No. 482, Shamshabânû), which was translated from Hindûstânî at the request of the emperor Shâh ‘Âlam, see here fol. 4<sup>b</sup> sq. According to the Bodleian copy the Persian translator’s name is Munshî Ghayûrî; Laćhman Singh; who appears here on fol. 4<sup>b</sup>, is no doubt the author of the original.</p> <p>According to the same copy the proper title of the romance is <em>Shu</em><em>׳</em><em>la-i-âh</em> ( شعلۀ آه).</p> <p>Beginning: شگفتگئ گلشن قصّۀ پردازی و تازکئ چمن افسانه طرازى شايستۀ حمد جهان آرائيست كه گل رعناى حبّ و محبّت را بنسيم روح پرور قدرت بالغه الخ.</p> <p>No. 1481, ff. 152, ll. 9; Shikasta; size, 8<sup>5/8</sup> in. by 5<sup>5/8</sup> in.</p> <p> </p>
