(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 329 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>910</p> <p>D&icirc;w&acirc;n-i-Aḥmad N&acirc;maḳ&icirc; (ديوان احمد نامقى).</p> <p>The lyrical poems of the great Shaikh-alisl&acirc;m Ab&ucirc; Naṣr Aḥmad bin Ab&ucirc;-alḥasan (or, according to others, Ab&ucirc;-alḥusain) N&acirc;maḳ&icirc; J&acirc;m&icirc;, usually called Aḥmad-i-J&acirc;m, with the epithet of Zhandap&icirc;l (ژنده پیل), who was born in N&acirc;maḳ, a village near J&acirc;m, A.H. 441 (A.D. 1049, 1050), and died A.H. 536 (A.D. 1141, 1142), see the Saf&icirc;nat-alauliy&acirc;, No. 308, and the Haft Iḳl&icirc;m, No. 667; compare besides Rieu ii. p. 551; A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 323; Nafaḥ&acirc;t-aluns, pp. 405-417; Muntakhab-alash&rsquo;&acirc;r, No. 16 (Bodleian Cat., col. 241); &Acirc;tashkada, No. 155 (ib., col. 267); Khul&acirc;ṣat-alafk&acirc;r, No. 3 (ib., col. 302), and Makhzan-alghar&acirc;&rsquo;ib, No. 3 (ib., col. 317); the third poetical specimen, quoted in the last-named tadhkirah, is found in this copy on fol. 24<sup>b</sup>, last line.</p> <p>Contents:</p> <p>Ghazals and a few ḳaṣ&icirc;das, arranged alphabetically, except the first, on fol. 1<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>اى جمالت تابشى در انس و جان انداخته</p> <p>پرتو روی تو نوری در جهان انداخته</p> <p>Two short mathnaw&icirc;s (of forty-five and eighty-nine baits respectively), on fol. 99<sup>a</sup>, the <em>first </em>celebrating the Ḳalandar or wandering monk, and having as first word in each hemistich the word قلندر, begins thus:</p> <p>قلندر پرتو نور الهيست &ndash; قلندر مطلع انوار شاهيست</p> <p>the second, on fol. 101<sup>a</sup>, begins:</p> <p>خداوندى كه آن پيدا و پنهانست</p> <p>جمالش بين كه در هر ذرّه تابانست</p> <p>The rub&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;s, found in Rieu&rsquo;s and Sprenger&rsquo;s copies, are wanting here. No date.
