Sprenger, Catal., p. 5, No. 72, and p. 16, No. 18, comp. also Rieu iii. p. 999<sup>b</sup>; in the preface of this copy, on fol. 2<sup>a</sup>, l. 4, he is called Abû al’alî Ḥasan bin Muḥammad alḥusainî; in the Haft Iḳlim, No. 335, col. 401 in this Cat., and the Khulâṣat-alafkâr, Bodleian Cat., col. 305, No. 76, Sharaf-aldin Ḥasan bin Nâṣir ‘alawî). He died in Juwain, A.H. 565 (A.D. 1169, 1170), see A. Sprenger, Catl., p. 16; Butkhâna, in Bodleian Cat., col. 198 ,No. 13; and Âtashkada, ib., col. 270, No. 231; comp. also No. 933 below.</p> <p>A prose preface, beginning, on fol. 1<sup>b</sup>:الحمد لله ربّ العالمين و الصلوة على رسوله محمّد و آله الطاهرين و سلّم تسليمًا كثيرًا كثيرًا ‘ واجبست بر ارباب عقل و فطنت الخ.</p> <p>Tarjî’s, tarkîbbands, ḳaṣîdas, ghazals, and ḳiṭ’as, all mixed together without any order, on fol. 4<sup>a</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>يا رب اين مائيم و اين صدر رفيع مصطفاست</p> <p>يا رب اين مائيم و اين فرق عزيز مجتباست</p> <p>It agrees with the first quotation in the Makhzan-algharâ’ib, No. 562 (Elliott Coll. 395, fol. 92<sup>b</sup>), see Bodleian Cat., col. 327.</p> <p>Rubâ’îs, on fol. 163<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>مقصود زآفرينش ما جانست</p> <p>وين گوهرپاک را حقيقت كانست</p> <p>This copy, although not dated, has been put before the following two as being comparatively the fullest.</p> <p>No. 236, ff. 187, 2 coll., each ll. 14; clear and distinct Nasta’lîḳ; illuminated frontispiece; size, 9¼ in. by 5½ in.</p> <p> </p>
