XMM-Newton imaging simulations for STATiX characterization

<p>Here we distribute 1000 imaging simulations of XMM-Newton observations containing transient X-ray sources, used for the characterization of the STATiX source detection pipeline (Ruiz et al., in preparation). SIXTE (SImulation of X-ray TElescopes; Dauser et al. 2019) is used to simulate X-ray imaging observations of the EPIC-PN camera onboard XMM-Newton. Each simulation consists of an event list file and an attitude file. These simulations were produced using the Python code available at https://github.com/ruizca/sixtexmm.</p>
