(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 3348 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>1087</p> <p>Jaw&acirc;hir-i-maulaw&icirc; u la&rsquo;&acirc;l&icirc;-i-mathnaw&icirc; ( جواهر مولوى و لآلئ¹ مثنوى).</p> <p>A shorter selection of extracts from Jal&acirc;l-ald&icirc;n R&ucirc;m&icirc;&rsquo;s mathnaw&icirc;, made at the request of some Ṣ&ucirc;fic friends, by Maul&acirc;n&acirc; Ab&ucirc;bakr alsh&acirc;sh&icirc; (مولانا ابوبكر الشاشى), see fol. 1^b, l.4, and divided into 63 b&acirc;bs. The title appears on fol. 2^a, l. 7 (that given on fol. 1^a, viz. لبّ لباب مختصر مثنوئ مولوى روم, is incorrect). Most of the headings of the 63 b&acirc;bs are left blank; the few which are marked are:</p> <p>1.باب اوّل در بيان نى و سماع, on fol. 2^a, beginning with the initial bait of the mathnaw&icirc;:</p> <p>بشنو از نى چون حكايت ميكند</p> <p>وز جدائيها شكايت ميكند</p> <p>2.دربيان صوفى و تصوّف و صفا, on fol.3^b; 5.در بيان زهد, on fol. 6^b; 10.در بيان تقوئ يقين ورضا, on fol. 12^a; 11.در بيان تواضع و مذمّت كردن عجب, on fol. 13^a; 12.در بيان مقام (؟ حزم) جزم, on fol. 14^b; and 13. در بيان مقام وفا بعهد on fol. 15^a.</p> <p>Beginning of the short prose-preface: الحمد لله حمد الشاكرين و الصلوة على خير الذاكرين محمّد و آله الطاهرين الطيّبين اجمعين &lsquo; ميگويد شيخ الشيوخ قطب العارفين رئيس اهل اليقين زين الملّة و الدين مولانا ابوبكر الشاشى الخ</p> <p>Dated the 19th of Dh&ucirc;-alḥijjah, A.H. 1087 (A.D. 1677, Feb. 22).</p> <p>No. 3348, olim 19.
