A commentary on the mathnawî, by ‘Abd-allaṭîf bin ‘Abdallâh al-’Abbâsî, the compiler of the critical edition of the poem, styled نسخۀ ناسخه (see Nos. 1088-1090 in this Cat.), and of the special glossary to the same, the لطائف اللغات (Nos. 1091-1097 above). It is dedicated to the empror Shâhjahân, and explains difficult Persian verses, Arabic phrases, quotations from the Ḳurân, etc.; comp. Rieu ii. p. 590; A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 494; and W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., pp. 794 and 795. Lithographed at Lucknow, 1866; at Cawnpore, 1876. Beginning: شرح بعضى ابيات مشكلۀ فارسی و ترجمۀ اشعار معضله و دیباچهای تازئ مثنوئ مولوئ معنوى و برخى از فوائد الخ. The original Arabic preface of Daftar I, on fol. 4a.
