(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a> <strong>number 530 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>1150</p> <p>Sharḥ-i-Bustân (شرح بستان).</p> <p>‘Abd-alwâsi’ Hânsawi’s commentary on the Bûstân, beginning, on fol. 41<sup>b</sup>: ربّنا لا تواخذنا إن نسينا او اخطانا و صلّ على نبيّك و رسولك محمّد سيّدنا و مولانا و على آله و اصحابه الخ ميگويد معترف بعجز و نادانى در فهم الفاظ و درك معانى عبدالواسع هانسوى كه الخ ; comp. A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 552. ‘Abd-alwâsi’ of Hânsî (see above, col. 403) is also the author of the غرائب اللغات, an alphabetical glossary of Hindî words with Persian explanation, improved and re-edited by Sirâj-aldîn ‘Alî Ârzû, and of a Persian Grammar, printed 1851 in Cawnpore, comp. Rieu iii. pp. 1030<sup>a</sup> and 1096<sup>b</sup>.</p> <p>The text of the Bûstân (introduction) begins, on fol. 42<sup>b</sup>: بنام جهاندار جان آفرين ; Book I, on fol. 61<sup>a</sup>; II, on fol. 106<sup>b</sup>; III, on fol. 130<sup>a</sup>; IV, on fol. 149<sup>a</sup>; V, on fol. 171<sup>a</sup>; VI, on fol. 182<sup>a</sup>; VII, on fol. 188<sup>b</sup>; VIII, on fol. 206<sup>b</sup>; IX, on fol. 216<sup>a</sup>; X, on fol. 218<sup>a</sup>. Fol. 50<sup>b</sup> is left blank, but there is no lacuna.</p> <p>Not all verses, but only the difficult ones, are explained by the commentator.</p> <p>This copy was finished after a careful collation by Muḥammad Naṣîr, the son of Sayyid Lutf-allâh, who was also an inhabitant of Hânsî, the 8th of Ṣafar, A.H. 1140 (A.D. 1727, Sept. 25). On fol. 220 a fragment in Hindûstânî: خيال بزبان هندى.</p> <p>No. 530, ff. 41-220, ll. 11; large and distinct Nasta’lîḳ; the first two pages sprinkled with gold; size, 8½ in. by 4½ in.</p> <p> </p>
