2000k Southern Asia Series

<p>A set of about 30&nbsp;large-scale&nbsp;maps of South Asia produced by the Survey of India in the Southern Asia&nbsp;series, at a scale of 32&nbsp;miles per 1.014 inches (1:2,000,000).&nbsp; These maps cover the territory from Eastern Persia (Iran) to Western China and date from 1914 to 1945.&nbsp;</p> <p>Each map is named after a significant geographical feature within the map area--a city, a river, a country or part thereof etc.&nbsp; An Index Map is provided to illustrate the area covered by each of the maps.&nbsp;&nbsp;This index map can be downloaded to assist in selecting particular maps of interest to the viewer.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The map scans are collected from many sources, and the quality of the scans as well as the underlying paper maps is uneven.&nbsp; Some scans are professionally done, while others are of poor quality.&nbsp; On the assumption that &#39;some map is better than no map,&#39; we include the poor quality scans until a better copy can be obtained.</p>
