Digitized Watermarks in the Music Manuscripts of Franz Schubert

The data set contains images taken via an infrared camera, so-called thermograms, of six music manuscripts by the composer Franz Schubert. The manuscripts themselves are kept in the music collection of the Austrian National Library in Vienna: Mus.Hs.19487, Mus.Hs.19488, Mus.Hs.19491, Mus.Hs.27666, Mus.Hs.41200 and Mus.Hs.41542.
Due to the large dimensions of the folios, two images per folio were usually made. These can be found in the subfolder “orig”. By stitching these pairs of images, the whole folios were digitally reassembled. These images are stored in the subfolder “comb”.
