(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 2795 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>1481</p> <p>D&icirc;w&acirc;n-i-Wal&icirc; (ديوان ولى).</p> <p>The lyrical poems of Wal&icirc;, who is, according to the Makhzan-alghar&acirc;&rsquo;ib (No. 2947, col. 390, last line, in the Bodleian Cat.), which quotes several of the ghazals found in this and the following copy (for instance, that on fol. 98^b, l. 5 sq. ; fol. 69^a, lin. penult., in the following copy), identical with Maul&acirc;n&acirc; Wal&icirc; of Dasht-i-bay&acirc;ḍ (in Khur&acirc;s&acirc;n, or as the Saf&icirc;nah states, No. 356, col. 223 in the Bodleian Cat., in K&ucirc;hist&acirc;n), who was contemporary with Ḥusain Than&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc; of Mashhad (see Nos. 1449 and 1450 in this Cat.) and Mail&icirc; of Har&acirc;t (who died about A.H. 1000=A.D. 1591, 1592, see Rieu ii.= p. 666 and Blochmann, &Acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;n-i-Akbar&icirc;, pp. 571 and 572), flourished in the reigns of Sh&acirc;h Ṭahm&acirc;sp and Sh&acirc;h &lsquo;Abb&acirc;s the Great, and was killed, according to the Saf&icirc;nah, loc. cit., A.H. 1012 (A.D. 1603, 1604); see another copy of his d&icirc;w&acirc;n in A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 589; comp. also Muntakhab-alash&rsquo;&acirc;r, No. 705 (col. 254 in the Bodleian Cat.).</p> <p>Contents:</p> <p>Ḳaṣ&icirc;das and ḳiṭ&rsquo;as, without any order, intermixed with a few ghazals, on fol. 1^b, beginning:</p> <p>اى حريمت كعبۀ حاجت رواى جبرئيل</p> <p>نقش نعلين تو محراب دعاى جبرئيل</p> <p>Ghazals and rub&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;s, in alphabetical order, on fol. 97^b, beginning:</p> <p>شب نويد قرب در زد بندۀ درگاه را</p> <p>خوش اثرها بو در نی نالۀ جانگاه را</p> <p>A great number of lines throughout the copy are rather effaced.
