(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 328 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>1493</p> <p>D&icirc;w&acirc;n-i-Waṣl&icirc; (ديوان وصلى).</p> <p>The poems of &Acirc;gh&acirc; (Mirz&acirc; or Khw&acirc;jah) Muḥammad Ṭ&acirc;hir Waṣl&icirc; of Rai, the son of Khw&acirc;jah Muḥammad Sharif Hijr&icirc; (see above, No. 1440), and elder brother of Mirz&acirc; Ghiy&acirc;thbeg I&rsquo;tim&acirc;d-aldaulah, the waz&icirc;r of Jah&acirc;ng&icirc;r and father of the famous N&ucirc;r Jah&acirc;n Begam.</p> <p>Ghiy&acirc;thbeg died in Rab&icirc;&rsquo; I, A.H. 1031 (A.D. 1622, Jan.-Feb.), see Blochmann, &Acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;n-i-Akbar&icirc;, p. 509. The exact date of Waṣl&icirc;&rsquo;s death in not known, see Haft Iḳl&icirc;m, No. 1116 (col. 461 in this Cat.); Saf&icirc;nah, No. 191 (col. 217 in the Bodleian Cat.), and Makhzan-alghar&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;b, No. 2971 (ib., col. 391).</p> <p>This collection contains:</p> <p>Ghazals, rub&acirc;&rsquo;is, and fards, in alphabetical order, on fol. 61<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>خوشوقت وخندان بگذران خوشوقت و خندان صبح را</p> <p>شايد كه تا صبح دگر در یافت نتوان صبح را</p> <p>Tarj&icirc;&rsquo;&acirc;t and some rub&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;s, on fol. 82<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>چه كرده ام كه دگر مهر بر دهان داری</p> <p>خدنگ ناز دگر باره در کمان داری</p> <p>A mathnaw&icirc;, styled در صفت گنجفه , &lsquo;on the game of cards,&rsquo; on fol. 91<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>زر بدست وزير خواهد باج</p> <p>چون گدائي بچرخ خود محتاج</p> <p>Ḳaṣ&icirc;das, ḳiṭ&rsquo;as, a few rub&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;s, and one fard, on fol. 95<sup>a</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>نزديك شد دلا كه سر آيد زمان غم</p> <p>ندهد بروزگار دگر کس نشان غم</p> <p>Another mathnaw&icirc;, entitled, خسرو و شيرين, &lsquo;the love-story of Khusrau and Sh&icirc;r&icirc;n, &lsquo;on fol. 101<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p> <p>الهى شيوۀ طاعت عطا كن &ndash; بنور خود دلم را آشنا كن</p> <p>This poem is incomplete in consequence of a lacuna after fol. 108.</p> <p>Another series of ḳaṣ&icirc;das, tarj&icirc;&rsquo;s, ḳiṭ&rsquo;as, ghazals, and rub&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;s, beginning abruptly (in consequence of the same lacuna), on fol. 109<sup>a</sup>, in the middle of a ḳaṣ&icirc;dah, rhyming in ى.</p> <p>Dated by &lsquo;Abd-alraḳ&icirc;b, the 24th of Shaww&acirc;l, A.H. 1069 (A.D. 1659, July 15).</p> <p>No. 328, ff. 61-149, 2 coll., each ll. 15-18; distinct Nasta&rsquo;l&icirc;ḳ; size, 10&frac12; in. by 5&frac12; in.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
