Section of a Frieze, 1916

A Prairie School style terracotta frieze created by Frank Lloyd Wright student George Grant Elmslie. I took ten photos of this architectural frieze fragment in Room G300 at the MIA (Minneapolis Institute of Art). I was intrigued by the color and stylized organic relief. I've always enjoyed the Prairie School Style. While I enjoyed the frieze, photographing it was a bit tricky. It is displayed above eye level and somewhat tricky to photograph (I still haven't invested in an AF lens for my Sony A5100 yet, so getting clear, sharp photos is tricky in museum settings with my shaky hands). I tried to make the best of the situation by using a tripod at its maximum height with the camera shooting in RAW, manual mode. After getting home, I imported the photos to Lightroom and adjusted and sharpened them. Unfortunately, I missed the tops of the different elements of the frieze.
