Online survey of needs and challenges of innovation ecosystems and intermediaries for taking up activity in the EU space sector
<p>The present dataset was generated as part of the "Needs and challenges of innovation ecosystems and intermediaries for taking up activity in the EU space sector" of the H2020 <a href="http://innorbit.eu">InnORBIT project</a>.</p> <p>The aim of this study was to identify and explore the available and missing skills of innovation intermediaries to provide business support services to innovators within their local ecosystems to develop commercial activity in space. The assessment of skills was based on a baseline framework encompassing a wide array of skills and competencies innovation intermediaries are supposed to possess in order to provide effective business support services to space innovators. The skills of the baseline framework are grouped into five broad categories: (i) space industry knowledge, (ii) business assessment knowledge, (iii) business support skills, (iv) organisational and digital skills and (v) soft skills. The baseline framework was originally developed by the InnORBIT consortium through research in related works of EU funded projects and publications and validated through a series of 15 interviews with top-level executives of organisations across the CEE and SEE area, belonging to the two target groups of the study (i.e., innovation intermediaries and innovators). An online survey was deployed from May 26th to June 18th using the EU Survey tool, to innovation intermediaries and innovators across the EU and CEE/SEE countries in particular. Two online questionnaires were developed building on the baseline skills framework - the first intended for innovation intermediaries asking them to perform a self-assessment of their skills in terms of providing business support services and the second targeting innovators, asking them to state their perception on how innovation intermediaries they have worked with, perform in each of the skills.</p> <p>The dataset contains four files:</p> <p>1. Zip file including the transcripts from 6 interviews with space innovators in Eastern Europe for the evaluation of the baseline framework of skills.</p> <p>2. Zip file including the transcripts from 9 interviews with innovation intermediaries in Eastern Europe for the evaluation of the baseline framework of skills.</p> <p>3. a pdf file of the digital questionnaires developed in EU Survey deployed to innovation intermediaries and innovators in the region</p> <p>4. An excel file with 104 valid responses collected from the online survey (56 innovation intermediaries and 48 innovators) across 16 EU countries / 21 countries total.</p> <p>The dataset contains only non-sensitive anonymised information and is in full compliance with the GDPR provisions. Any information leading to the identification of participants in activities (interviews, survey) is either modified or omitted and deonted with brackets.</p>
Characterization of different surface materials and their antifouling activity
<p>The long-term performance of five surface materials - glass, perspex, polystyrene, epoxy-coated glass, and a silicone hydrogel coating - in inhibiting biofilm formation by cyanobacteria was evaluated concerning biofilm cell number, wet weight, chlorophyll a content, and biofilm thickness. In order to obtain more insight into the effect of surface properties on biofilm formation, they were characterized concerning their hydrophobicity and roughness.</p>

Low dose rate radiation induced secretion of TGF-β3 together with an activator in small extracellular vesicles modifies low dose hyper-radiosensitivity through ALK1 binding
<p>This is a collection of results from all clonogenic assays on T-47D cells used in the manuscript "Low dose rate radiation induced secretion of TGF-β3 together with an activator in small extracellular vesicles modifies low dose hyper-radiosensitivity through ALK1 binding". </p> <p>T-47D cells were subjected to various pretreatments: low dose rate priming (0.1-0.3 Gy/h for 1 hour), small extracellular vesicles from irradiated or control cells, irradiated or control cell conditioned medium, MMP/ADAM inhibitor TAPI-2, recombinant TGF-B3, inhibitors of ALK1, ALK2, ALK5 or TGF-BRII, iNOS inhibitor 1400W, recombinant FKBP4, recombinant MMP14 and combinations of these. All pretreatments except low dose rate priming was administered for 24 hours. </p> <p>After pretreatments, cells were seeded to colonies and irradiated with 220 kV x-rays at a dose rate of 22.5 Gy/h or gamma rays from a Co-60 source at a dose rate of 20-25 Gy/h. </p> <p>Colonies were cultured for 2-3 weeks before fixation and manual counting. </p>

<p>This file contains the data and codes used in the paper</p> <p>“Confinement-induced accumulation accumulation and de-mixing of microscopic active-passive mixtures”, S. Williams et al, 2022.</p> <p>It includes the data used in all the figures and supplementary figures, as well as the codes used for simulations and escape rate estimation. The data files are in .mat format. The codes are Matlab codes with the exception of the analytical estimate of the escape rate which is a Mathematica worksheet.</p>
A map of active cropland and short-term fallows across Northern Mozambique derived from PlanetScope data
<p><strong>Overview</strong></p> <p>A map of smallholder-dominated landscapes covering the provinces Niassa, Zambezia, Cabo Delgado, and Nampula in Northern Mozambique. The map includes active cropland and short-term fallows as separate classes, as well as five land cover classes (herbaceous vegetation, open woodlands, closed woodlands, non-vegetated land, water). The map is based on PlanetScope mosaics and consequently comes at 4.77m spatial resolution.</p> <p>The download contains the following files:</p> <ul> <li>ps_lc_nmoz.tif / .qml: land cover map and associated QGIS style file</li> <li>ps_lc_nmoz_probmargins.tif / .qml: probability margins and associated QGIS style file</li> <li>training.gpkg: training samples with class labels</li> <li>LICENSE.pdf: NICFI data program user license</li> </ul> <p><strong>Map accuracy</strong></p> <p>We conducted an area-adjusted accuracy assessment based on a stratified random sample, which yielded important insights regarding accuracies and error types. The area-adjusted overall accuracy of the map is 88.9%, but users should be aware of the most important error types:</p> <ul> <li>Active cropland were overestimated, whereas local topographical depressions with moist soils, and regions with exposed soils/rocks and sparse vegetation cover were found to be falsely classified.</li> <li>Short-term fallows were underestimated, particularly in regions with high growth rates and extensive land management, such as parts of the northern and north-eastern study region.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Further resources</strong></p> <p>The production of this map was made possible through the <a href="https://www.planet.com/nicfi/">NICFI data program</a>, providing the PlanetScope mosaics and the Google Earth Engine cloud computing platform for preprocessing of the satellite data and classification. The dataset includes also the measurement of the effective losses of the in-line active cavity vs. the intracavity power. </p>
Earthquake Response of Reinforced Concrete Frames with Infill and Active External Confinement: Tests and Dataset
<p>One option to retrofit reinforced concrete (RC) frames is the construction of infill walls. Many studies have shown that infill increases lateral strength and stiffness but tends to reduce drift capacity relative to bare frames. Fewer studies have quantified reductions in drift demand attributed to infills prior to failure. This report summarizes experiments designed to compare drift demands of frames with and without infill. Included data comes from two theses completed at Purdue University which focused on the dynamic response of one-third scale, non-ductile RC frames to uniaxial simulated earthquake ground motions. Tests were conducted on bare frames, frames with masonry infill walls, and frames with timber infill walls. In 11 of 14 test series, active confinement was applied to columns using external post-tensioned reinforcement</p> <p> </p> <p>This dataset summarizes two experimental programs that studied the dynamic, in-plane response of one-third scale RC frames with full-height infills and active external column confinement. Theses summarized were written by Monical (2021) and Kerby (2022), and included data from 254 in-plane dynamic tests of non-ductile RC frames with various seismic retrofits.</p>
CATCH-EyoU: Processes in Youth's Construction of Active EU Citizenship: Wave 1 Questionnaires: Greece
<p>File <strong>CatchEyoU_WP7_W1_Greece.por </strong>contains the Greek questionnaire data set for Wave 1 of Work Pachage 7 of Catch-EyoU project (Constructing AcTive CitizensHip with European Youth: Policies, Practices, Challenges and Solutions; funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Programme; GA number: 649538; 2015-2018; http://www.catcheyou.eu/). This dataset contains the data underlying the publications presented in the References section (see below). </p> <p>File <strong>CatchEyoU_WP7_W1_Greece.por </strong>corresponds to the responses of participants to the questionnaire study for the purposes of Catch-EyoU project, WP7, Wave 1, collected in December 2016. These were entered and coded as either numeric or alphanumeric variables. Detailed information on variable names and labels is included in the portable file itself and it is also provided in the accompanying README file.</p>
A longitudinal study of the associations of children's body mass index and physical activity with blood pressure – dataset
<p>B-Proact1v is a longitudinal study examining changes in children’s physical activity and sedentary behaviours as they progress through primary school. In 2012-2013, 1299 Year 1 children (median age: 6 years) were recruited from 57 schools in greater Bristol, UK (total number of eligible children: 2600; recruitment rate: 50.0%). Following this, data were collected from 1223 Year 4 children (median age: 9 years) from 47 of the original schools between March 2015 and July 2016 (total number of eligible children: 2047; recruitment rate: 59.7%). This included 685 children from the original sample.</p> <p> </p> <p>This dataset represents a subset of the B-Proact1v data to examine the longitudinal associations of children’s body mass index and physical activity with blood pressure. Included in this repository is the dataset and a data dictionary. The dataset includes the variables that underlie the findings in a manuscript entitled ‘A longitudinal study of the associations of children’s body mass index and physical activity with blood pressure’ that has been submitted to PLOS ONE. This dataset has been made available so that future researchers can replicate the study findings using the data. DFT Calculated xyz and log Files as well as csv Files for Machine Learning in Support of "Tailoring Phosphine Ligands for Improved C H Activation: Insights from Δ-Machine Learning"
<p>Transition metal complexes have played crucial roles in various homogeneous catalytic processes due to their exceptional versatility. This adaptability stems not only from the central metal ions but also from the vast array of choices of the ligand spheres, which form an enormously large chemical space. For example, Rh complexes, with a well-designed ligand sphere, are known to be efficient in catalyzing the C-H activation process in alkanes. To investigate the structure-property relation of the Rh complex and identify the optimal ligand that minimizes the calculated reaction energy ΔE of an alkane C-H activation, we have applied a Δ-Machine Learning method trained on various features to study 1,743 pairs of reactants (Rh(PLP)(Cl)(CO)) and intermediates (Rh(PLP)(Cl)(CO)(H)(propyl)). Our findings demonstrate that the models exhibit robust predictive performance when trained on features derived from electron density (R<sup>2 </sup>= 0.816), and SOAPs (R<sup>2 </sup>= 0.819), a set of position-based descriptors. Leveraging the model trained on xTB-SOAPs that only depend on the xTB-equilibrium structures, we propose an efficient and accurate screening procedure to explore the extensive chemical space of bisphosphine ligands. By applying this screening procedure, <a>we identify ten newly selected reactant-intermediate pairs with an average ΔE </a>of 33.2 kJ mol<sup>-1</sup>, remarkably lower than the average ΔE of the original data set of 68.0 kJ mol<sup>-1</sup>. <p>Data and Python scripts affiliated with the publication "Evolution of Flare Activity in GKM Stars Younger than 300 Myr over Five Years of TESS Observations" in the American Astronomical Journals. The manuscript pre-print can be found on <a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2405.00850">arXiv</a>.</p> <p>This repository contains all of the data used to complete the analysis of the aforementioned manuscript, along with the Python scripts used to create all of the figures in the manuscript. Many of the data products from this manuscript are saved as CSVs, with appropriate column names and units, when applicable.</p> <p>Additionally, we include the light curves for all targets in this sample, along with the 'probability light curves,' which were used to identify flares in the TESS data. These data products can be found in the zip file 'TESS_stella_outputs.zip'. The rest of the data product is structured as it is on the <a href="https://github.com/afeinstein20/young-stellar-flares/tree/paper">associated GitHub repository</a>.</p>
