<p>Figure 13 and Figure 14 show screenshots of the model implementation in AnyLogic. Figure<br> 13a shows how individual neuro-symbols were implemented. Neuro-symbols are realized by socalled<br> active objects with an input port and an output port via which information is exchanged with<br> other elements. Additionally, variables are used for calculating the activation of the neuro-symbols<br> (not depicted) and for storing properties of neuro-symbols (e.g., the location property). Timers and<br> state charts serve for processing information that arrives in a certain time window or in a certain<br> temporal succession at the input port. Whenever new input information arrives at the input port, the<br> activation degree of the neuro-symbol is recalculated and checked against the threshold value.<br> Based on this, the neuro-symbol is either activated or deactivated and the corresponding<br> information is sent via the output port by using “message objects” (see Figure 13b).</p>

<p>As we can see in Figure 5, the presence on Facebook of the organizations involved in information and promotion of tourism activities (54.12%) is lower than the rate of online presence through a website (67.89%), which broadly confirms that Social Media visibility is the second step in the strategy of online business promotion of entities that were subject of this research. The fact that 99% of the tourist organizations present on Facebook already have a website that promotes their own work confirms the previous statement</p>
Tweeting after terrorism: A content analysis of Twitter crisis communication following the 2016 Brussels Bombings, Dataset
<p>This study attempted to further the literature by showing how crisis communication and social media share a common foundation in strategic communication management. A content analysis, along with insights from a social network analysis, was used to better understand not only how information diffused across a governmentally-centered Twitter network following the 2016 Brussels bombings, but how specific types of strategic digital content performed. A sample of 1,187 tweets suggested that emotionally-neutral tweets from government agencies functionally diffused better across the social network, while more sentimental tweets from politicians performed better in a reputation management context. Such findings contribute to the literature on communication, political science, and management scholarship by conceptually and empirically showing how interdisciplinary research can serve as a strategic bridge between a multitude of actors interested in crisis communication research and practice.</p>

<p>Market Research - What’s become... of new entrants in research workflows and scholarly communication?</p> <p>Full report to be published as preprint on OSF Preprints shortly.</p> <p>To systematically create a list of the new entrants in research workflows and scholarly communication that I’ve seen over the years, I used a range of resources, listed hereunder:</p> <ul> <li>400+ Tools and innovations in scholarly communication (charting the <a href="http://bit.ly/innoscholcomm-list">creation and availability</a> (supply side))<a href="#_edn1">[i]</a>. This database continues to build on the 2015-2016 survey by Bianca Kramer & Jeroen Bosman (both at Utrecht University Library), who are interested in the way information is created, shared, and processed in academia<a href="#_edn2">[ii]</a>. From this source I pulled 683 players. From the answers to the open and closed questions in the 2015-2016 survey I found 225 players.</li> <li>Presenters at STM events<a href="#_edn3">[iii]</a> from 2010-2017. This contributed 53 players.</li> <li>Outsell<a href="#_edn4">[iv]</a> ‘Companies to watch’, as per their annual Information Industry Outlook (2009-2017). This source provided 29 players.</li> <li>Pitches at APE (Academic Publishing in Europe) Conferences<a href="#_edn5">[v]</a> between 2011-2017. Here I found 44 players.</li> <li>Nominees for the ALPSP Award for Innovation in Publishing. <p>Market Research - What’s become... of new entrants in research workflows and scholarly communication?</p> <p>Full report to be published as preprint on OSF Preprints shortly.</p> <p>To systematically create a list of the new entrants, a range of approaches and sources were used. This resulted in a long list (see: <a href="https://zenodo.org/record/2530048#.XDnfnFxKjIV">https://zenodo.org/record/2530048#.XDnfnFxKjIV</a>).</p> <p>The ‘long list’ was shortened to a sample of 120 independent for-profit startups through various filtering exercises, described in the full report. For the sample, three questions were investigated: 1. Did they still exist (independently) in 2018? 2. If so, how were they funded and how were they doing? 3. If they were acquired by 2018, by whom and when were they taken over?</p> <p>This file contains the ‘sample’ and answers to the research questions per 31 December 2018.</p>
Supplements to "Digital traces of climate risks: assessing the communication impact of Paris resilience strategy".

<p>This data was collected through the periodic monitoring of the project's miscellaneous dissemination activities, such as publications in relevant journals, posts, etc. The data consist of a list that depicts the number of publications, posts, events organized or attended by the consortium partners, etc. as well as the number of different type of stakeholders reached by the project's dissemination activities. The purpose of collecting this data is to assess the outreach and efficiency of the dissemination activities during the implementation of the project.</p>
