Intensive Parenting Among Mothers and Fathers: Identifying Profiles and Examining Differences in Parental Involvement

The first file is the complete dataset and the second is the codebook used in the person-centered study Intensive Parenting Among Mothers and Fathers: Identifying Profiles and Examining Differences in Parental Involvement.

The dataset is long (first mothers, and then fathers) and is composed of four smaller datasets that have been combined (see first column: P=pilot, 1=first work-package, 3=third work-package, P2=drop-in). Participants are 1002 Belgian parents of adolescents. The horizontal colors indicate the alternation of mother-father responses. The vertical colors correspond to the change of page in the paper questionnaire.

The codebook provides information on the variables found in the dataset (demographic questions, three target variables for the construction of profiles, parenting scales).

Lamprianidou, E.-A., Eira Nunes, C., Antonietti, J.-P., & Van Petegem, S. Mothers' and fathers' early tactile contact behaviors during triadic and dyadic parent-infant interactions immediately after birth and at 3-months postpartum: Implications for early care behaviors and intervention

Raw data of the study "Mothers’ and fathers’ early tactile contact behaviors during triadic and dyadic parent-infant interactions immediately after birth and at 3-months postpartum: Implications for early care behaviors and intervention" :Mothers’ and fathers’ touch were investigated during their first naturalistic interaction with their newborns, and maternal touch was predicted from newborn to 3-months postpartum during the Still-Face (SF) procedure. Both parents displayed more nurturing types of touch when interacting with their infants for the first time. Maternal touch at newborn predicted maternal touch after, but not before, the SF 3-months later; more touch after birth was associated with more soothing, regulating, types of maternal touch following the SF, suggesting that the nature of these interactive contexts (post-birth, post-SF) may be parallel
