Arctic Sea Ice Type Products Based on Active and Passive Microwave Remote Sensing (2002-2021)
<p>Based on FY-3 MWRI and other microwave radiometer and scatterometer data, this dataset explores the distribution of Arctic sea ice types from 2002 to 2021 using the K-means clustering method. Spatial and temporal resolutions are 12.5 km and 1 day, respectively. The dataset is of integer type, where 0 represents open water, 1 represents first-year ice, 2 represents multi-year ice, 3 represents land, and 4 represents data gaps. The data is stored in .tiff format.</p>

A species diversity dataset of beetles by three passive acquisition methods in Tei Tong Tsai (Hong Kong)
<p><span>We based the dataset in this paper on the beetle collection from the sample site of Tei Tong Tsai (Hong Kong) from 1st May to 28th May 2019, a period of high insect diversity. A total of 16,270 beetles (photographed in 318 images) from 478 species belonging to 39 families were collected. The dataset consists of the following components: The original photo of the whole sample obtained at each site with each collection method, the morphological species identification chart, a statistical table describing the species and numbers of beetles collected on different dates at different sites using three passive acquisition methods, and a statistical table describing the longitude, latitude, and altitude information of each sampling point. We aimed to provide a database for the evaluation of beetle species diversity in Hong Kong and a paradigm for the effectiveness of passive acquisition in the beetle collection through the three representative methods, thus laying a foundation for biodiversity research.</span></p>

Data from: Olfactory modulation of barrel cortex activity during active whisking and passive whisker stimulation
<p>Rodents depend on olfaction and touch to meet many of their fundamental needs. The joint significance of these sensory systems is underscored by an intricate coupling between sniffing and whisking. However, the impact of simultaneous olfactory and tactile inputs on sensory representations in the cortex remains elusive. To study these interactions, we recorded large populations of barrel cortex neurons using 2-photon calcium imaging in head-fixed mice during olfactory and tactile stimulation. We find that odors alter barrel cortex activity in at least two ways, first by enhancing whisking, and second by central cross-talk that persists after whisking is abolished by facial nerve sectioning. Odors can either enhance or suppress barrel cortex neuronal responses, and while odor identity can be decoded from population activity, it does not interfere with the tactile representation. Thus, barrel cortex represents olfactory information which, in the absence of learned associations, is coded independently of tactile information.</p>
