The date given at the conclusion of the work, viz. A.H. 1027 (A.D. 1618), is apparently that of the original MS. on which Louis de Dieu based his edition; see Rieu, loc. cit. Beginning of the preface, on fol. 1b: راهنمونی و هدایت صاحب ترجمه برای خوانندگان، ای عزیزان و محبوبان من این داستان مسیح را پادری ژیرونیمو شویر بپاکیزگی الخ The preface ends on fol. 5a, first line, and the whole space from there to fol. 9a is left blank. Beginning of the life of Christ, on fol. 9b, with the first bâb (Christ’s childhood): در طفولیّت مسیح و ولادت مریم و پرورش یافتن، چون مسیح بواسطۀ مرد از مریم مقدّس زاده شد الخ Second bâb (Christ’s miracles and teaching): در معجزها و تعلیم, on fol. 43b. Another <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kufic">Kûfic</a> fragment, containing <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surah">Sûrah</a> <a href="https://quran.com/1">1</a>, 6 نعمت- <a href="https://quran.com/2">2</a> , 160 کحبّ; large, long-shaped characters; vowel points red, green, or yellow, in a few cases also blue. Sometimes, as if to indicate various readings, small lines are added on د, in green or red, instead of diacritical points. Verses divided by gold ornaments; every tenth marked by larger ones, which contain the number. The title of Sû. 2 is on a gold ground. One leaf is missing between foll. 7 and 8, and two between foll. 32 and 33. The last leaf, which is half destroyed, belongs to another fragment (in five lines). Both this and the first page have been entirely gilt. In a leather binding, covered with silk. Some one has noted that the MS. was written by <a href="http://www.iranicaonline.org/articles/ali-b-abi-taleb">ʿAlî</a> (fol. 46).

Another <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kufic">Kûfic </a>fragment, containing (foll. 1-34) <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surah">Sûrah</a> <a href="https://quran.com/2">2</a>, 254-282, and (foll. 35-51) Sû. <a href="https://quran.com/3">3</a>, 14-32. Large characters, rather cursive; the لا flourished in a peculiar way. A few red dots for vowels. Verses marked in the same way as in the preceding MS [=<a href="http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3931737">Catalogue no. 1</a>], bordered with paper, highly ornamented and gilt. The last leaf-on the back of which are also Kûfic characters, but nearly effected-bears on the recto, within ornaments, the words: کتب حسن بن علی (sic). On some pages the letters have vanished; the margin is slightly injured. Bound in gilt leather.

With marks of pauses, sections, etc. Ends with the usual epilogue, صدق الله الخ. Notes for practical use, in Persian, are added on the margin. Preceded by a Persian introduction (foll. 1-16), compiled by order of <a href="https://referenceworks.brillonline.com/entries/encyclopaedia-of-islam-2/tipu-sultan-SIM_7562?s.num=0&s.rows=20&s.mode=DEFAULT&s.f.cluster=Encyclopaedia+of+Islam&s.start=0&s.q=%28tipu+sultan%29">Tippu</a> [reg. 1782-99]. It contains- <ol> <li> Foll. 1-13. Tables stating the place of revelation, the number of verses, words, letters, and رکوع, and the peculiarities, of every Sûrah. </li> <li> Fol. 13. A table showing how often each letter of the alphabet occurs in the Koran. </li> <li> Fol. 14. A list of the verses distinguished by a سجدة. </li> <li> Fol. 15. A list of grammatical mistakes on reciting the Koran, which would be blasphemous. </li> <li> Fol. 16. Some mnemonic verses, enumerating the verses which treat of certain subjects. </li> </ol> This introduction is written in Shikastah. Size 8 in. by 5 in.; foll. 522. Eleven lines in a page.   A splendid copy; gilt throughout, with double front ornaments. Marks of pauses, sections, etc. On the last page is the prayer usually recited after perusing the Koran, with an introduction in Persian. Well written, “under royal auspices,” by Ḥâjjî ‘Abdallah. This copy was intended for the special use of <a href="https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q10088">Tippu</a>, as is stated in a note at the end (fol. 520). Various notes and directions, in different hands, on the margin, very often resembling those in the preceding MS <a href="http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3942208">[= Catalogue no. 5]</a>. Preceded, also, by the same introduction. One leaf is missing after fol. 22. Fol. 26 is much torn. In a red leather binding, bearing all the marks and inscriptions mentioned in <a href="https://digital.onb.ac.at/OnbViewer/viewer.faces?doc=ABO_%2BZ185712206">Stewart's Catalogue</a>, Pref. p. v.

Apache Point Observatory ARCES Spectra of Io-in-eclipse (2018-2019)

APO/ARCES R~31,500 optical and near-IR spectra of Io while eclipsed by Jupiter on UT180320 and UT190812. This includes guider images (ecam directory), raw spectra, and spectra reduced using two independent pipelines with IRAF/PyRAF scripts included. Reduction via PyRAF script, echelleReduction_Aug2019.py, is courtesy of Jean McKeever (Yale). The ReduceARCES_CS.cl IRAF script comes courtesy of Brett Morris (University of Bern) and produces the initial files for his own Python package AESOP (DOI:10.21105/joss.00854).
