30-years (1991-2021) Snow Water Equivalent Dataset in the Po River District, Italy
<p>This project hosts SWE data over the Po River District. For more information about the data and its usage, please refer to the corresponding data paper, which is submitted to the Scientific Data Journal.</p> <p>This spatial dataset is distributed as daily over a period of 30 years from 1991 to 2021, beginning on October 3rd of each year up to July 1th of next year. The data is distributed in GeoTIFF format with a spatial resolution of 500 m by 500 m. The data is organised into folders labelled with corresponding years, such as, “1991_1992”, which means within the particular folder, there are for example the data from October 3, 1991 to July 1, 1992 and so on for the subsequent years. Moreover, each daily data file follows a consistent naming convention, such as SWE on October 3, 1991 is named as “SWE_1991-10-03.tif”.<br>The data is being distributed as a georeferenced temporal raster data and therefore, can be processed and visualised using any GIS; furthermore, any programming language with GIS capabilities can be used to analyse and visualise the data</p>

Equality vs. Equivalence
<p>Many differences exist between the logical relations “equality” and “equivalence”. In this monograph I point out differences that concern definition, linguistics, computational gates and tables, denotation, application, negation of terms, negation of the relation, relations to other relations, the laws of symmetry, transitivity and reflexivity, the laws of commutation and permutation, the law of tautology, the law of distribution, the law of association, propositional meaning, and “genesis”. I also point out a form of “symmetry breaking”: the negation of some equality may yield some non-equality, while the negation of that non-equality might not yield the same equality.</p>

Weak lexical equivalents in Russian → Belarusian translation: approaches to identification // Presented at 11th International Congress of Belarusian Studies, Gdańsk, 23.09.2023]</p> <p>The file <code>data.csv</code> is a test battery of 100 contexts in Russian, expected to cause difficulties when attempting to translate them into Belarusian. This is because each context contains a pair of words distinct in Russian but lacking clearly distinct Belarusian lexical equivalents. The contexts were taken, often with some simplifications, from various sources available on the web, i.e. they are representative of real usage, not artificially constructed.</p> <p>The file has four columns:</p> <ul> <li><code>w1</code>, <code>w2</code> – two words belonging to the same part of speech (typically adjective, noun, or verb), <code>w1</code> lexicographically preceding <code>w2</code>;</li> <li><code>context</code> – a snippet of text with both words (typically a single sentence, sometimes longer);</li> <li><code>inspired_by</code> – URL of a web page or file containing the original version of the context, which may have been slightly abridged or reworded for illustrative purposes. Archive copies of most URLs, with the exception of Google Books links, are available in the Wayback Machine (https://web.archive.org) or in https://archive.today.</li> </ul>
