Anomaly-free, flavour-dependent U(1) charge assignments for Standard Model/Standard Model plus three right-handed neutrino fermionic content

We present lists of anomaly-free charge combinations up to a maximum magnitude charge Qmax given by the number at the end of the filename. Filenames beginning "SMcharges" are for the Standard Model fermion content, whereas "SMnuRcharges" are for Standard Model plus three right-handed neutrino fermion content. Use the bunzip2 program to unpack the larger files with a bz2 suffix.

The files searchU1.cpp and searchU1.h contain C++ files (in the 2014 standard) to produce the solutions. runme.sh is a bash script that compiles the programs and then runs it several times, once to produce each file.

filterNeut.cpp contains an example program that reads in one of the solution lists, applies a filter to it, and only prints out solutions that satisfy the filter.

These data and programs are based on this paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/1812.04602

Reconstruction of the skeletons of Struthiomimus altus (left) and Ornitholestes hermanni (right). Struthiomimus 1/10, Ornitholestes 1/6 natural size, The Ornitholestes restoration replaces the original restoration by Osborn in 1903 which is very faulty. The Struthiomimus, Amer. Mus. 5339, mount has the distal end of the tail restored from Amer. Mus. 5355; dotted vertebra from Amer. Mus. 5262, In both restorations the pollex is too closely appressed to the other digits, see Fig. 3. in Skeletal Adaptations of Ornitholestes, Struthiomimus, Tyrannosaurus

Choosing the right biomass feedstock strategy (webinar)

For any bio-based project, identifying the right feedstock strategy is a key aspect. One of the first steps to make the project viable is to secure a continuous and long-term supply of biomass. This ensures the plant runs efficiently and does not experience interruptions.

But biomass availability is complex to estimate. It is necessary to assess which feedstock is available close by to avoid high transport costs. The feedstock must also have sufficient quality and specific characteristics to meet the technical requirements of the plant. The cost and sustainability of the chosen biomass are equally crucial.

This webinar explores all these key aspects drawing from the long-standing experience of three experts in biomass feedstocks.

Waves plus currents INteracting at a right anGle over rough bedS (WINGS)

The project aims at investigating the overall effects induced by combined wave plus current flow on the near bed flow in the presence of different roughness conditions (loose sand, gravel, fixed ripples) with waves and currents crossing at a right angle. This condition is indeed typical of coastal regions, where waves and longshore currents coexist. In this framework, the goal of the experiments is to understand how the combined flow affects the velocity distribution through the water column and the apparent bed roughness.
