The author wrote this commentary A.H. 825, when he was on the way to Aḥsanâbâd (=<a href="https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q37112">Gulbargah</a>), where he intended to present it to <a href="https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3482078">Aḥmad Shâh</a> <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh86005343.html">Bahmanî</a> [1422-36] (ابو المغازى شهاب الدنيا والدين احمد شاه السلطان ). He praises this king accordingly in his preface. The work is dated as follows:  و كان تاليف هذا الكتاب بجزيرة المهائم 1 من بلاد الهند فى مدةٍ اولها اواخر شهر رمضان المعظم سنة خمس و عشرين و ثمان مائة و آخرها يوم الاحد الحادى و العشرون من ذى الحجة الحرام من السنة المذكورة و ابتدأت نقله الى هذه المبيّضة باحسناباد فى يوم السبت الثالث و العشرين من صفر سنة ست و عشرين ووافق الفراغ من هذا النقل يوم الثلثاء الثامن من جمادى .. 2 سنة ست المذكورة قال ذلك و كتبه مولفه اقل عبيد الله تعالى محمد بن من ابى بكر المخدومى المالكى حامدا الخ Well written, the text in a large character. A treatise on Syntax called الوافى, by MUḤAMMAD B. ‘OTHMÂN B. ‘OMAR <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nr90005329.html">BALKHÎ</a> (who lived at least as early as the eighth century, see no. <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5816134">972</a>). The name of the author occurs in the preface, and allusion is made in it to the above title, by the words (fol. 5)  و كتابى هذا وافٍ بحلّ نفائسه الخ The preface begins:  الحمد لله الذى بيده تصريف الاحوال ׳ و نحو كرمه مقصد ذوى الآمال and the treatise commences:  النحو علم باصول يُعرف بها احوال اللفظ العربى من الاعراب و البناء ليُحترز به عن الخطاء فى التاليف Boldly written by several hands, with vowel-points. Copious glosses , which are mostly transcribed from kindred works and from commentaries (e.g. the undermentioned منهل ) , are added by ( مخدوم ) كبير الدين كابلى ( sic ) ابن قاصيحۀ , for whom the copy seems to have been made. A list of the abbreviations used for the said works (علامات كتب كه نقل حواشى ازان كرده شده است) is written on the title-page. One leaf is missing after fol. 9. Worm-eaten. LOFAR IE613/DE604/FR606 Observations of Io-Decametric Radio Emissions on 8 June 2021

This dataset contains observations of the Jovian decametric radio emission induced by Io, measured on 8 June 2021 with the DE604, FR606 and IE613 LOFAR stations, and used in the Louis et al., 2022 (RASTI journal) paper (doi: TBA). The first file (IE613_Jupiter_2021-06-08T040000-070000_84msec_12khz.fil) contains the data at a resolution of ~83.9 msec by ~12.2 kHz, from 04:00:00 UTC to 07:00:00 UTC and in the [7.8 - 55.5] MHz range. The second file (IE613_Jupiter_2021-06-08T051030-051040_fullres_82musec_12khz.fil) contains 10 seconds of the above data (05:10:30 UTC to 05:10:40 UTC) at the highest resolution (81.92μsec by ~12.2 kHz). The third file (FR606_Jupiter_2021-06-08T051030-051040_fullres_82musec_12khz.fil) contains the same 10 seconds than the above file (05:10:30 UTC to 05:10:40 UTC) observed by the Nançay FR606 LOFAR station, at the highest resolution (81.92μsec by ~12.2 kHz) The fourth file (DE604_Jupiter_2021-06-08T051030-051040_fullres_82musec_12khz.fil) contains the same 10 seconds than the two above files (05:10:30 UTC to 05:10:40 UTC) observed by the Postdam DE604 LOFAR station, at the highest resolution (81.92μsec by ~12.2 kHz) These files can be read and processed using the python plot_raw_data.py routine (Louis, 2022, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6470741)

Who's for dinner? Bird prey diversity and choice in the great evening bat, Ia io

The mysterious predator-prey interaction between bats and nocturnally migrating birds is a very rare and incredible process in natural ecosystems. So far only three avivorous bat species, including two noctule bats (Nyctalus lasiopterus and Nyctalus aviator) and the great evening bat (Ia io), are known to regularly prey on songbirds during nocturnal avian migration. The information related to the diversity and the characteristics of the birds as prey, as well as the hunting strategy in both species of noctule bats are already clear. However, the diversity of bird prey in the diet of I. io as confirmed by molecular identification remains unknown. Moreover, like hunting insects, it remains unclear if the avivorous bats opportunistically prey on birds. Here, we used DNA metabarcoding to investigate the bird prey composition, diversity, and choice in diets of I. io. We found I. io consumed 22 species of seven families from Passeriformes with a body mass of 6–19 g, and preferentially selected small-sized passerine birds for optimizing the benefit/risk trade-off. Moreover, most of the species preyed upon were migratory birds, while four species were local resident birds, indicating that I. io may adopt both aerial-hawking and gleaning strategies on songbirds as do the other two noctules. Further, I. io body mass did not influence in prey choice and predation richness on birds, suggesting I. io is an opportunistic avivorous predator. This study provides novel insights into the avian dietary ecology of I. io and completes the analysis of predator/prey interaction between three avivorous bats and nocturnally migrating birds. Our results also indicate bat predation on birds which occurs as an act of ecological opportunity may subject bats to intense natural selection pressure, causing them access to the new diet-defined adaptive zones.
