FIGURE 2 in A new status for two varieties previously included in the southern Malagasy Kalanchoe rosei, now included in K. variifolia (Crassulaceae subfam. Kalanchooideae)

FIGURE 2. Several forms of Kalanchoe variifolia var. seyrigii, not to scale, all with leaves at least somewhat serrulate-denticulate, with many rather small and sharp serrations, tan and papery calyces, and somewhat glaucescent. All forms have some sessile and some petiolate leaves. Leaf blade shape and flower colour vary among the forms. A–B. A plant housed at BGBM (023-61-74-80), with oblong to narrowly lanceolate-oblanceolate leaves and dull orange flowers. C. A similar form with bright orange flowers, cultivated in Israel (R. Shtein 746). D–E. A form with ovate-obovate to oblong-elliptical leaves, occasionally slightly trilobate, and red-pink flowers, cultivated in Switzerland. F. The same form as D–E, cultivated in Israel (R. Shtein 875), showing a rounded leaf apex. Photograph credits: A–B. David- Paul Klein taken at BGBM, Berlin; C, F. Ronen Shtein; and D–E.
