Interviews - collaborative housing in Poland, 2020/21
<p>Key groups were identified in this case: one of the leaders who initiated the project ‘Nowe Zerniki’ in Wrocław and ensured its implementation, a resident who lived in ‘Kooperatywa Mieszkaniowa Nowe Zerniki’ and was involved in the whole investment process and the housing research community, including researchers, architects, NGOs, finally, there was the leader and a resident of the ‘Pomorze’ housing project in Gdynia. In total, six interviews were conducted, with the duration of individual interviews varying from 1 to 1.5 h. Two leaders were selected from Wroclaw and Gdynia, two residents representing collaborative housing initiatives from Wrocław and Gdynia, a representative of a foundation preparing a new housing cooperative project, as well as a researcher and an architect working on affordable housing.</p>

<p>This dataset presents three anonymized interviews performed on-line by a researcher from the Department of Social Pedagogy of the University of Łódź, Poland as part of the activities in Work Package 2 of the T-Factor project. The content of that package is relevant to the issue of advance cases of meanwhile uses in Lodz. The interviewees represent different institutions or organizations involved in an urban regeneration in Łódź and their stories are focused on their understandings on meanwhile uses and the ways how they contribute to the overall effort to manage this time in Lodz.</p>
TIQA: Technical Interview Question Answering dataset
<p>This is a Question Answering dataset comprising a list of technical interview-related questions and answers derived from two textbooks, one for Machine Learning and one for Deep Learning subjects. Each question-answer (QA) pair is accompanied by the subject (Machine Learning or Deep Learning) of the textbook and the specific context (section content from the textbook) from which the QA pair was curated. It also contain the Type information of each question.<br>The dataset is available in JSON lines format, with each line representing a JSON object. Each JSON object includes the following keys: Document, Question, Question Type, Subject, and Answer. The Document key contains the context paragraph(s) from the textbook in the form of a list of sentences. The Question key contains the specific question, Question Type contains the type of the Question, and the Subject key indicates the subject of the textbook, i.e., Machine Learning or Deep Learning. The Answer key includes the indexes of the context sentences that form the answer to the question. Note that the first sentence of the context has an index of 0.</p>
Current state of vulnerability handling from the perspective of software operators and developers: semi-structured interviews
<p>This archive contains the transcripts of semi-structured interviews, conducted as part of the study "Leveraging Fine-grained Telemetry Data for the Detection and Prevention of Vulnerability Exploits" by Konrad Ponichtera and Sebastian Proksch. The goal of the interviews was to collect insights about the current state of vulnerability handling in the software engineering industry and identify improvement possibilities from the perspective of the system operator.</p> <p>The interviews have been conducted with ten software engineers with system administration/operation backgrounds, meaning that either they perform system administration/operation as part of their responsibilities, or used to do so in the past. Each participant has been assigned an identifier from P1 to P10. Their roles and industry experience have been disclosed in the attached CSV file with the questionnaire responses.</p> <h1>Interview structure</h1> <p>The interviews were conducted online, and transcribed to the text file, which was then reviewed and pseudonymized. Each interview took approximately one hour. During each interview, the participants were asked to look into a problem of system vulnerabilities from the perspective of a system operator, who can configure and monitor the infrastructure, as well as deploy the applications. The participants were also informed that the operator cannot modify the applications' source code and artifacts. Then the participants were asked seven open questions about the status quo of vulnerability handling in software engineering and its three aspects of awareness, impact, and mitigation. The interviewees responded in accordance with their knowledge and experience.</p> <p>Afterwards, the researcher guiding the session introduced the proposed system to the interviewees, by describing its goal and functionality. To avoid the moderator acceptance bias, we explained that the system was designed within the Software Engineering Research Group of Delft University of Technology. The mitigation of social desirability bias has been achieved by describing the actions taken by an imaginary operator named Albert.</p> <p>After going through the wireframes of the operator's dashboard interface and describing the content of each screen, the participants were asked to follow a supervised walkthrough, where they played the role of an operator. They were presented with a hypothetical situation, where a critical vulnerability, similar to the <a href="https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=cve-2021-44228" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Log4Shell</a> appears on the dashboard. During this part, the guiding researcher was streaming the window of a wireframe editor. The interviewees were then asked to follow a think-aloud protocol, and indicate their actions as they "use" the system. Meanwhile, the researcher made changes to the wireframes to simulate the effect of the participants' actions.</p> <p>After the walkthrough, participants filled out a System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire and were asked additional questions about the impact the proposed system would have on their vulnerability awareness, impact analysis, and mitigation capability.</p> <h1>Files</h1> <p>The archive contains three types of artifacts from the interview: pseudonymized transcripts, the questionnaire and the wireframes.</p> <h2>Transcripts</h2> <p>The <em>transcripts</em> directory contains ten text files with pseudonymized interview transcripts. In each file, the parts spoken by the interviewing researcher have been prepended with "R:", while the parts spoken by the interviewee have been prepended by the interviewee's identifier.</p> <h2>Questionnaire</h2> <p>The CSV file contains the answers participants gave at the start of the interview. <br>Each participant was asked to provide their current job title and how many years they worked in the software engineering industry. They were also asked to specify which DevOps tools and technologies they used, and what system operator tasks they had a chance to do during their career. The goal of these questions was to estabilsh the interviewee's system operation background. Finally, after the prototype walkthrough, participants filled out SUS questionnaires, the results of which are included in the PDF.</p> <h2>Wireframes</h2> <p>The <em>wireframes</em> directory contains diagrams in DrawIO format (also exported to PDF), used during the interview.<br>The vision GUI wireframes were used to introduce participants to what the envisioned system would look like.<br>The walkthrough wireframes were used during the semi-supervised walkthrough scenario, where the interviewing researcher modified them following the participants' actions.</p>
Interviews for New Business Models for Pharmaceutical Innovation and Access to Medicines - Pandemic Preparedness
<p>These supplementary materials represent the partial dataset in the form of semi-structured interviews, collected and analyzed in the research article "Unlocking global access to medicines for pandemics: the potential and limits of alternative innovation models". This article is one of the outcomes of the "New Business Models for Pharmaceutical Innovation and Global Access to Medicines" research project, conducted at the Global Health Center, within the Geneva Graduate Institute. Interview guide of study conducted on: Identification of the challenges teachers face in teaching small problem-based learning (PBL) groups in the College of Medicine, King Faisal University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
<p><strong>Background:</strong> Recognizing the challenges that teachers face offers a platform for devising innovative teaching strategies, thereby boosting teacher performance. This study seeks to pinpoint the obstacles teachers encounter while conducting small problem-based learning (PBL) groups and to recommend measures that guide educational institutions in determining teacher training needs. Furthermore, the study explores the creation of interventions to bolster PBL teaching practices.</p> <p><strong>Methods:</strong> Utilizing a qualitative approach, semi-structured interviews were administered, prompting participants to contemplate the difficulties of instructing small PBL groups. Ten medical educators, purposefully selected based on their PBL teaching experience, participated. Verbatim transcripts were meticulously analysed using thematic analysis, facilitating code production, comparison, and overarching theme generation.</p> <p><strong>Results:</strong> The data underscored challenges associated with adopting PBL in a traditional educational setting, emphasizing the imperative for honed facilitation skills, fostering motivation towards PBL, and addressing the ramifications of students' conventional learning backgrounds. Notably, the accruement of experience over time, the enhanced confidence from managing diverse PBL groups, and the importance of knowledge exchange and shared experiences emerged as vital for PBL educators' professional growth.</p> <p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Actively supporting teachers as they navigate shifts in their roles and urging the incorporation and adept application of teaching techniques can elevate teacher efficacy. Recommendations include the initiation of a teacher development program, the allocation of ample time and resources for student participation in PBL activities, the introduction of a comprehensive teacher assessment system, and the integration of quantitative research methods to further enrich teacher practices and professional advancement.</p>
