Latijnse School (Gemert) - Netherlands
Former Latin School of Gemert The Latin school of Gemert has a special history. She, unlike most other schools of this type, has no medieval origins but remained longer than many others. The school was founded in 1587 by Hendrik van Ruijschenbergh, who was commander of the German Order . This commander was in charge of counter- reformation and the recommendations of the Council of Trent also included the care for proper religious education, the establishment of seminars, and so on. The school was therefore established to the praise of God almighty and to the benefit of Christendom, especially for the flourishing youth . Well (a Dutch 'welput'), Boazum, Netherlands
On the 16th of July 2017, a large hole opened up in the garden of a family in the Frisian village of Boazum, the Netherlands. The residents soon realised that it was the result of a collapse above a previously unknown brick-lined well in an overall good state of conservation. The construction was documented by using photogrammetry, and the resulting 3D model proved valuable for a further constructional and functional analysis. The well dates from the 19th century. Fort Bourtange Fortifications Netherlands
Fort Bourtange (Dutch: Vesting Bourtange) is a star fort in the village of Bourtange, Groningen, Netherlands. It was built in 1593 under the orders of William the Silent. Its original purpose was to control the only road between Germany and the city of Groningen, which was controlled by the Spaniards during the time of the Eighty Years' War (1568 - 1648) The fort sa its final action in 1672 against invading forces of the Prince-Bishop of Münster, France's German ally in the Franco-Dutch war. The Fort continued to serve in the defensive network on the German border until it was finally given up in 1851 and converted into a village. Fort Bourtange currently serves as a historical museum. The LiDAR view presented here shows the fortifications only and not the interior arrangement of buildings which can be viewed in 3D on Google Earth. While the impressive defences around the fort are well known the set of bastions out to the east, normally hidden in woodland, are less well known and rarely mentioned.
