A 5 m vertical distance to channel network index (VDCNI) across France
<p>The vertical distance to channel network index (VDCNI) expresses the vertical height (in meter) between the elevation of a pixel and the nearest channel. It was derived from the national airborne DTM (RGE ALTI ®) at 5 m spatial resolution, which is available from the website of the French National Geographic Institute (IGN) (<a href="https://geoservices.ign.fr/">https://geoservices.ign.fr/</a>), and the GIS layer of the channel network in the national hydrological database <a href="https://www.sandre.eaufrance.fr/atlas/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/3b3d3c56-d9b6-4625-a57e-ba054e798274">https://www.sandre.eaufrance.fr/atlas/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/3b3d3c56-d9b6-4625-a57e-ba054e798274</a>.</p> <p>Dataset includes:</p> <ul> <li>280 GeoTIFF raster files (VDCNI_000.tif) projected in the French Lambert-93 system (EPSG code 2154), each file corresponding to a 50 x 50 km tile. The number indicates the tile of interest ;</li> <li>1 vector tile index at Google Earth format (tile_index.kmz) showing the location of each tile. Determinants of the vertical distribution of the phyllosphere differ between microbial groups and the epi- and endosphere
<ul> <li>The assembly of phyllosphere microbial communities is under the control of stochastic and deterministic processes. In neotropical forests, the tree host identity and physiology together with strong heterogeneities of the environment within the canopy and at the leaf scale could potentially drive the assembly of phyllosphere microbial communities.</li> <li>We analyzed the assembly processes shaping the microbial communities living in the endophytic and epiphytic phyllosphere in tree species across vertical environmental gradients present from the top of the canopy to the ground. We used DNA metabarcoding to characterize microbial communities and described the microhabitats along the gradient by measuring morphological and chemical foliar traits of host trees.</li> <li>The results revealed that the assembly of both communities resulted from a balance of deterministic and stochastic effects with strong discrepancies between fungal and bacterial communities. Different effects of the host and of the vertical environmental gradient shaped epiphytic and endophytic communities. If fungal communities were mainly shaped by the host identity, different leaf morphological and chemical leaf traits drove the epi- and endophytic bacterial communities.</li> <li>Taken together, the phyllosphere represent a global selective pressure of the plant on microbial communities but the microhabitat at the leaf scale contribute also significantly to drive the assembly of microbial communities.</li> </ul>
Raw SP-ICP-MS data for the publication "Vertical distribution of inorganic nanoparticles in a Norwegian fjord"
<p>The compressed archive contains SP-ICP-MS data to reproduce results for the paper "Vertical distribution of inorganic nanoparticles in a Norwegian fjord"". F4 in the sample name denotes the outer station, F2 denotes the inner station. The suffix integer (1-6) indicates the depth position, lowest numbers nearest bottom. The letter A denotes acidified sampling, N neutral sampling. The data consists of integer intensity versus time data in .csv-format.</p> <p>The remaining data to produce all other results, visualizations and statistics for the paper is included in the supplementary or GitHub. Associated code is deposited in a GitHub repository, github.com/arebruvold/fordefjorden_distribution. TEAMx-PC22 (TEAMx pre-campaign 2022) – Vertical profiles and Multi-Point In-Situ Measurements at Nafingalm collected with the SWUF-3D UAS fleet
<p>This dataset contains aggregated measurements from a fleet of multicopter UAS. The data was measured during the period 21 June 2022 through 27 June 2022 at Nafingalm, Austria with the SWUF-3D fleet. The data was collected in association to the TEAMx-PC22 field campaign. A maximum of three UAS were operated simultaneously. Processed level-2 data is provided. For level-2 data, time synchronization between individual UAS was done through interpolation, if multiple UAS are operated simultaneously.</p> <p>In this dataset vertical profiles (swuf3dvpro) between 10m and 120m above ground level and time series of UAS hovering for approx. 10 minutes at fixed positions (swuf3dhover) are provided with a temporal resolution of 1 Hz.</p> <p>The data are provided in NetCDF format with metadata and variable descriptions in the style of the SAMD Product standard: Jahnke-Bornemann, Annika. Changes in vertical and horizontal diversities mediated by the size structure of introduced fish collectively shape food-web stability
<p><span>Species introductions can alter local food-web structure by changing the vertical or horizontal diversity within communities, largely driven by their body size distributions. Increasing vertical and horizontal diversities is predicted to have opposing effects on stability. However, their interactive effects remain largely overlooked. We investigated the independent and collective effects of vertical and horizontal diversities on food-web stability</span><span> in alpine lakes stocked with variable body size distributions of introduced fish species. I</span><span>ntroduced predators destabilize food-webs by </span><span>increasing vertical diversity through food chain lengthening</span><span>. Alternatively, increasing horizontal diversity results in more </span><span>stable food-web topologies. A non-linear interaction between vertical and horizontal diversities </span>suggests that increasing vertical diversity is most destabilizing when horizontal diversity is low<span>.</span> <span>Our findings suggest </span>that the size structure of introduced predators drives their impacts on stability by modifying the structure of food-webs, and highlights the <span>interactive effects of vertical and horizontal diversities on stability.</span></p>
Doppler lidar vertical wind profiles from Rzecin during POLIMOS 2018
<p>This is data set includes Doppler wind lidar quantities which were calculated from measurements performed between May and September 2018 at <em>PolWET </em>site in Rzecin, Poland (52.75°N, 16.30°E, 59 m a.s.l.) of the Poznan University of Life Sciences</p> <p>The system is a Doppler lidar Stream Line (Halo Photonics), which is part of ACTRIS-Cloudnet (Illingworth et al., 2007). The system laser emits at 1.5 μm and the detector is heterodyne using fiber-optic technology. The measurements for this data set consisted of continuous vertically pointing measurements with a temporal resolution of 2 s. A more detailed description of the instrument can be found in (Ortiz-Amezcua et al., 2022)</p>
WHOI prototype Vertical Temperature Profiler data from Quashnet River site QRSP28
<p>Vertical Temperature Profiler data from the WHOI prototype instrument, acquired at the Quashnet River site QRSP28 from 17 June, 2022 to 11 July, 2022. Data sampled at 5 minute intervals. Eighteen total temperature records, with the measurement depth listed in the first (header) row of the file. Depths are in cm (e.g., T8 is the temperature record from 8 cm depth). Note that absolute depths could be in error by as much as 2 cm due to uncertainty introduced by insertion process, but relative depths are highly accurate. Data have been calibrated based on water bath tests.</p>

Datasets for 2D Vertical Convection: Base States and Leading Linear Modes using Snek5000-cbox
<p>This repository contains two types of datasets related to 2D vertical convection analysis, generated using the snek5000-cbox simulation framework. The first dataset includes base states computed with the Selective Frequency Damping (SFD) method, considering various aspect ratios and Prandtl numbers. The second dataset provides the decomposed amplitude, phase, frequency, and omega of the leading linear mode, accompanied by the corresponding base states for different aspect ratios and Prandtl numbers. All datasets are stored in the .h5 file format for easy access and analysis. The scripts used to produce the datasets are provided in the repository https://github.com/snek5000/snek5000-cbox/tree/main/doc/scripts/2022sidewall_conv_instabilities.</p>
