Data from energy meters collected on the Wilanów Town Hall building (Warsaw, Poland)
<p>The dataset consists of measured values from Energy meters installed in the Wilanów Town Hall (Warsaw, Poland) which measure: (1) the thermal Energy for heating for the whole building and thermal Energy for the 3rd floor of the building (demo area); (2) electrical energy demand for the chiller serving AHU NW1 and electrical energy consumption on the 3<sup>rd</sup> floor of the building (demo area).</p> <p>The dataset consists also of data related to the physical variables such as: (1) operating condition in the conference rooms served by the AHU NW1 such as temperatures, CO<sub>2 </sub>concentration and humidity (2) weather data.</p> <p>The data have been made available from the BMS database, thanks to the BEMServer open-source platform - <a href="http://www.bemserver.org">www.bemserver.org</a>, developed in the HIT2GAP project that has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement n. 680708 - <a href="http://www.hit2gap.eu">www.hit2gap.eu</a>.</p>
Data from energy meters of the NANOGUNE building (Spain)
<p>The dataset consists of measured values from all the energy meters installed in Nanogune building located in San Sebastian (Spain). These meters differentiate between the electricity consumption of the intensive production equipment (chillers, clean room, laboratories, etc.) and the one related to the rest of the installation (offices, lighting, common areas, etc.). They also reflect the thermal consumption data (cold and heat) of each area of Nanogune building. </p> <p>There are 79 meters in total: 58 of them are electric meters, 20 thermal meters (10 cold, 10 heat) and a gas meter. Betaine–based natural deep eutectic solvents as sustainable electrolytes for the electrochemical energy storage devices
<p><span>The research project titled: <em>"</em></span><span><em><span>Betaine–based natural deep eutectic solvents as sustainable electrolytes for the electrochemical energy storage devices</span></em></span><em><span>"</span></em><span> focused on developing new, environmentally friendly liquid electrolytes for use in devices such as batteries, accumulators, and capacitors. The researchers concentrated on the development of so-called Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) based on betaine and its derivatives, which have the potential to replace traditional, less eco-friendly electrolytes.</span></p> <p><span>Betaine is a natural chemical compound in plants like sugar beets, making it a fully renewable resource. Chemically, betaine is a derivative of the amino acid glycine, meaning it possesses a positive functional group at one end of the molecule and a negative charge at the opposite end. This gives betaine the characteristics of an ionic compound known as a zwitterion, which can be successfully used as <span>an electrolyte additive.</span></span></p> <p><span><span>During the </span>research, three different NADESs were synthesized, and betaine hydrochloride served as the hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA). At the same time, glycerol, ethylene glycol, and glycolic acid acted as hydrogen bond donors (HBD). The researchers then examined their physical properties, such as density, viscosity, pH, and conductivity, and assessed these substances' electrochemical stability.</span></p> <p><span>Among the studied NADES, the one based on betaine hydrochloride as the HBA and ethylene glycol as the HBD proved to be the most suitable electrolyte for supercapacitors due to its low viscosity and high ionic conductivity. Tests involving this substance demonstrated that devices using this electrolyte exhibited high specific capacitance and stability during prolonged use.</span></p> <p><span>The results confirm that NADES based on betaine can serve as a more sustainable alternative to conventional electrolytes, which is a step toward creating more environmentally friendly energy storage systems in the future.</span></p> <p><span>This research was founded on the whole by the National Science Centre, Poland (grant No. 2023/07/X/ST5/00629). Data from: Alternative splicing substantially diversifies the transcriptome during early photomorphogenesis and correlates with the energy availability in Arabidopsis
Plants use light as source of energy and information to detect diurnal rhythms and seasonal changes. Sensing changing light conditions is critical to adjust plant metabolism and to initiate developmental transitions. Here we analyzed transcriptome-wide alterations in gene expression and alternative splicing (AS) of etiolated seedlings undergoing photomorphogenesis upon exposure to blue, red, or white light. Our analysis revealed massive transcriptome reprograming as reflected by differential expression of ~20% of all genes and changes in several hundred AS events. For more than 60% of all regulated AS events, light promoted the production of a presumably protein-coding variant at the expense of an mRNA with nonsense-mediated decay-triggering features. Accordingly, AS of the putative splicing factor REDUCED RED-LIGHT RESPONSES IN CRY1CRY2 BACKGROUND 1 (RRC1), previously identified as a red light signaling component, was shifted to the functional variant under light. Downstream analyses of candidate AS events pointed at a role of photoreceptor signaling only in monochromatic but not in white light. Furthermore, we demonstrated similar AS changes upon light exposure and exogenous sugar supply, with a critical involvement of kinase signaling. We propose that AS is an integration point of signaling pathways that sense and transmit information regarding the energy availability in plants.
