Sub-hourly water temperature data collected by UNBC's northern hydrometeorology group (NHG) across the Nechako Watershed, 2019-2021

<p>This is a dataset of water temperature time series collected at 15 minute intervals at 24 sites across the Nechako Watershed. Data are provided in comma-delimited format with one file for each site. Each file name identifies the site location. The first column contains the date/time (UTC) in the format MM/DD/YEAR HH:MM. The second column contains the corresponding water temperature in degrees Celsius to two decimals. The third column contains a recommended flag for data quality, with &quot;P&quot; representing a &quot;pass&quot;,&nbsp;&quot;F&quot; denoting a &quot;fail&quot;, and &quot;B&quot; denoting &quot;backwater conditions&quot; with the likely presence of ice and below freezing temperatures. Additional issues encountered at specific sites are identified in the attached &quot;read me&quot; file along with basic metadata (site coordinates, elevation and period of record). A map of the sites is also attached to depict their locations across the Nechako Watershed.&nbsp;</p>

Environmental data at the sampling event level collected with Inline instruments, almanach, models and satellites during the Tara Pacific Expedition 2016-2018

<p>The Tara Pacific expedition (2016-2018) sampled coral ecosystems around 32 islands in the Pacific Ocean, and sampled the surface of oceanic waters at 249 locations, resulting in the collection of nearly 58,000 samples. The expedition was designed to systematically study corals, fish, plankton, and seawater, and included the collection of samples for advanced biogeochemical, molecular, and imaging analysis. Here we provide at the sampling event level, the environmental data originating from all instruments acquiring continuously during the full course of the campaign. This dataset is augmented with the addition of variables originating from almanach (local sun/moon set/rise, local zenith), from operational models obtained from Copernicus Marine Services, but also <strong>f</strong>rom satellite imagery (MODIS-AQUA satellite - Level 3 mapped product, 8 day average, 4km resolution) at&nbsp;<a href="https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov">https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov</a>. The zone corresponding to the station position and date was recovered either by taking a two pixel buffer around the given location (total zone being a 5 by 5 pixels square of 20 km side) and in order to propose an alternative measure in the inevitable case where clouds were present an alternative 12 pixels buffer was taken (total zone being a 25 by 25 pixels square of 100 km side). All data were provided as mean, standard deviation (sd) together with 0.05, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 0.95 quartiles</p>

The first column is time-delay, other columns are the corresponding photoinduced reflectivity traces recorded at respective temperatures (constant fluence of 0.4 mJ cm<sup>&minus;2</sup>).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Fluence_dependent_reflectivity_changes_at 10K.dat contain photoinduced reflectivity transients, recorder on BaNi2As2 at 10 K. Data collected for: The contrasted impacts of grasshoppers on soil microbial activities in function of ecosystem productivity and herbivore diet

<p>Herbivory can have contrasted impacts on soil microbes and nutrient cycling, which has stimulated the development of conceptual frameworks exploring the links between below- and aboveground processes. The "productivity model" predicts that herbivores stimulate microbial activities and accelerate nutrient mineralization in productive ecosystems, while they have an opposite effect in less productive ecosystems. In parallel, the "diet model" predicts that herbivores feeding on conservative plants accelerate nutrient cycling while those feeding on exploitative plants decelerate nutrient cycling, due to changes in litter inputs. Since these two frameworks can lead to conflicting predictions in some cases, experimental evidence combining herbivore diet and productivity is required.</p> <p>During two consecutive years, we conducted an experiment controlling the presence of three grasshopper species consuming either grasses, forbs or both in twelve natural and managed alpine grasslands of contrasted productivities. In order to assess the effects of herbivory on soil microbes, we measured their enzymatic activities, their biomass and the soil potential nitrogen mineralization (PNM). Soil and vegetation characteristics were also determined in order to test if they modulated the effects of herbivory on microbes.</p> <p>Contrary to the predictions of the diet model, the effects of herbivory on microbial characteristics did not depend on the herbivores diet but relied on ecosystem productivity. The most productive sites were characterized by exploitative plant species which depleted N resources in the soil, and by microbes producing relatively few extracellular enzymes, leading to a lower PNM. Herbivory increased microbial biomass and decreased the production of extracellular enzymes in those sites, possibly through the stimulation of root exudates produced by exploitative species. The least productive sites were characterized by conservative plants, which led to the sequestration of soil C, and by microbes having a resource acquisition strategy (more extracellular enzymes, higher PNM). Herbivory decreased microbial biomass and increased the production of extracellular enzymes in those sites. This pattern can be explained by the loss of carbon associated with insect respiration, which increases the need for microbes to acquire resources and by a lower production of root exudates by conservative species. Therefore, the effects of two years of herbivory on soil microbes were at odds with the productivity model, which focuses instead on longer term effects corresponding to herbivory-induced changes in plant species composition. This highlights the multidimensional feature of the impacts of herbivory on ecosystem functioning, both in space and time.</p>

Experimental data collected during first-phase testing of the Ground CO2 Mapper

<p>The various Excel files included in this dataset report data from tests performed to assess the technical capabilities of the Ground CO2 Mapper, a newly developed tool that can be used to help reduce uncertainty in the mapping of geological or anthropogenic CO2 leakage from the ground surface. These files include data from a number of laboratory experiments as well as tests performed at a controlled release site and a natural site where geological CO2 is released over a large area. This dataset was used to create the various figures presented in the article &quot;Development and testing of a rapid, sensitive, high-resolution tool to improve mapping of CO<sub>2</sub> leakage at the ground surface&quot; by Graziani, Beaubien, Ciotoli and Bigi to be published in Applied Geochemistry.</p>

SURCOM pH and temperature data collection registered at Cortegada Platform (Ria de Arousa - Spain) from 2020 to 2021

Biodiversity data collected by volunteers from NaturTjek 2015-2020

<p>This .csv file contains all observation made by volunteers between 2015 and 2020 as part of the Danish large-scale citizen science project: &quot;NaturTjek&quot; or &quot;Biodiversitet Nu&quot;. C-RIDGE: Indoor CO2 Data Collection System for Large Venues Based on Prior Knowledge

<p>This CO2 of C-RIDGE system dataset contains the high spatial and temporal resolution of the CO2<br> measures with the corresponding timestamp &nbsp;of static wireless sensors.&nbsp;<br> 45 sensors are densely deployed on the stand in the venue. The id and relative positions of sensors&nbsp;<br> are shown in device message. The sampling rate is adaptively adjusted according to the competition schedule.&nbsp;<br> The sampling interval is 5 minutes during the competition and 15 minutes otherwise. Please refer to&nbsp;<br> the description of the experimental setup in the data descriptor paper.</p> <p>In the process of data collection, the data cleaning process is performed &nbsp;to remove&nbsp;<br> and calibrate outliers and abnormal trend data. The script of data cleaning algorithm is&nbsp;<br> provided in this repository. For details about the data cleaning process, please refer to the script in&nbsp;<br> this repository and data descriptor paper.</p> <p>The dataset in this repository is processed version. The raw dataset is not included in this repository.</p> <p>Data is stored as CSV file. Each device is numbered in order of placement. There are 45 sensors in total,<br> 1 to 45 in the csv file are sensor numbers, timestamp as the China Standard Time (GMT+8), Each timestamp&nbsp;<br> corresponds to 45 CO2 concentration data from different sensors.</p> <p>To access the dataset, any programming language that can access the CSV file is appropriate. Users can&nbsp;<br> also directly open the CSV file. To successfully execute script files, Pycharm with&nbsp;Python 3.0&nbsp;is required.</p>
