The School Leavers' Study Data Verification: A Cross Check for Typographical Errors, Omissions, and Dubious Word Interpretations

<p>This data set reflects a verification procedure to check for typographical errors, data omissions, and dubious word interpretations made by UK data curators. During the course of verification, the XML files contained in the UK Data Service repository were cross checked against the RTF files. In the course of verifying the documents, some changes were adopted to wording, as with&nbsp;essay 110, where the word &quot;regretted&quot; makes sense in the sentence as opposed to the suggested term &quot;{regarted?}&quot; noted in the XML file. Any changes during verification were performed&nbsp;by the close reading method, whereby contextual clues in the&nbsp;sentence guided the investigator to make a guess on the term intended by the original essay writer. When contexts were not sufficient to resolve meanings and spellings, original words and spellings were kept. Examples of former omissions within documents include&nbsp;essay number 148. The following statement was omitted from the XML file:&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I retired not long ago after forty years with the same company. Life is very tedious now and I spend most of my time just sitting around thinking of the past.&quot; Essay&nbsp;150&nbsp;suffered&nbsp;the same problem:&nbsp;&quot;life my first interview was nerve wracking.&quot;, exists in the RTF file, but was missing from the XML file. In cases where the RTF and XML files are in dispute over omissions, I have included the missing information from the RTF file into the data set. Place names have been edited so they read with standard British&nbsp;spellings. The data have been cleaned and standardized&nbsp;to American spellings, and this reflects the investigator&#39;s framework over the data. English turns of phrases were retained as much as possible.&nbsp;The investigator is aware that any transcription of historical data (e.g. be it from the curators&#39; translations of writings on&nbsp;original printed pages to digital objects)&nbsp;includes adding personal perspective into the documents themselves. This is a&nbsp;limitation to the data cleaning process, and is here noted. Readers are invited to compare and contrast this verified data set with the original XML and RTF files.The second edition of the data deposited in the UK repository is cited as:&nbsp;</p> <p>Pahl, R.E. Vulcano Summer School 2018 - Sonar Data -

<p>This dataset of Humminbird Sonar data was acquired during the Vulcano Summer School in June 2018. It consists of four folders with data acquired on 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th and 20th June. The data format is the standard Humminbird DAT file format that can be read by a variety of software programs such as <a href="https://reefmaster.com.au/">ReefMaster</a>. The data was acquired to map regions of high seafloor gas seepage and extensions of onshore slope failure structures into the shallow waters.</p> <p>The&nbsp;fourth&nbsp;International Summer School was&nbsp;on Vulcano (Eolian Islands, Italy) in J<strong>une&nbsp;2018.&nbsp;</strong>The Summer School&nbsp;brought together experts from space and deep-sea research jointly developing technologies for the exploration of highly inaccessible terrain, such as the deep sea and Polar Regions, as well as the Moon and other planets.&nbsp;The summer school is an extension and continuation of the very successful previous three Summer Schools which were supported by the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.helmholtz.de/">Helmholtz Alliance</a>&nbsp;<em><a href="http://www.robex-allianz.de/en/">Robotic Exploration of Extreme Environments (ROBEX).</a>&nbsp;More information at&nbsp;http://robexsummerschool.de/</em></p>

Although substantial work has been done in the articulation of the learning design process, little is known about how learning designs are experienced by students and teachers, especially in the context of schools. This paper empirically examines if a teacher inquiry model, as a tool for systematic research by teachers into their own practice, facilitates the connection between the design and data-informed reflection on TEL interventions in two school communities. High school teachers participated in a learning design professional development program supported by a web-based community platform integrating a teacher inquiry tool (TILE). A multiple case study was conducted aimed at understanding: (a) current teacher practice and (b) teacher involvement in inquiry cycles of design and classroom implementations with technologies. Multiple data sources were used over a one year period including focus groups transcripts, teacher interview protocols, digital artifacts, and questionnaires. Sharing teacher-led inquiries together with learning analytics was perceived as being useful for connecting pedagogical intentions with the evaluation of their enactment with learners, and this differed from their current practice. Teachers&rsquo; reflections about their designs focused on the time management of learning activities and their familiarity with the enactment and analytics tools. Datasets were collected using EIGER X 16M detector at 1.2824&nbsp;&Aring; wavelength. Beam size was&nbsp;37.0 &times; 23.0 &mu;m<sup>2</sup>. Here data from group 2 are available. Dataset of the Solidarity Schools Network in Greece

<p>In recent years there has been a growing interest in the development, sustainability and infrastructural potential of grassroots solidarity networks that appeared in Greece since 2011. Our datasets focus on the Solidarity Schools&rsquo; Network (SSN) in the school year 2018-2019. They include both quantitative (e.g. population of students, teachers or classrooms) and qualitative (e.g. modes of organizing, type of collaborations) dimensions of their operation. The data have been collected as part of the infra-demos research project and aimed at the development of an interactive platform of the SSN.</p> <p>Infra-demos studies, among other, the potential for participatory modes of infrastructure incubated by these self-organised solidarity networks and it follows a participatory action research (PAR) methodology. The data have been collected by interviews with solidarity activists of each school and the platform has been co-designed by the infra-demos and the SSN. The platform has been developed partly as a management and self re-presentation tool for the needs of the solidarity schools and thus the datasets (and the platforms) are in two languages Greek and English.</p> <p>Infra-demos is funded by an NWO Vidi Innovational Research Incentives Scheme (project no 452-17-015) hosted in the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Faculty of Social Sciences and led by Prof. Dimitris Dalakoglou.</p>

MORAL DEVELOPMENT AND APOROPHOBIA IN TEACHING IN PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN A PERUVIAN DISTRICT

<p><strong><span>Abstract</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span>Background:</span></strong><span> Aporophobia, or the rejection of the poor, has become increasingly relevant in contemporary societies, particularly amidst technological and communicational advancements. It is understood that this phenomenon often influences the moral development of individuals. Therefore, the research aims to determine whether the level of moral development correlates with aporophobic behavior among educators in public secondary educational institutions in the district of Abancay.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Methods: </span></strong><span>This research was of a basic-theoretical nature, employing a hypothetical-deductive, correlational approach with a quantitative, non-experimental, and cross-sectional design. The study involved 198 appointed teachers in the District of Abancay, using a questionnaire as the instrument.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Results: </span></strong><span>It was evident that the level of moral development significantly influences aporophobic behavior (Wald = 17.358; p = 0.000). Furthermore, significant correlations were identified between aporophobic behavior and the processes of socialization (Wald = 9.569; p = 0.000), preconventional moral development (Wald = 7.354; p = 0.008), and conventional moral development (Wald = 20.198; p = 0.000).</span></p> <p><strong><span>Conclusion: </span></strong><span>The level of moral development significantly impacts the aporophobic behavior of teachers in public secondary educational institutions in the district of Abancay.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Keywords: </span></strong><span>Rejection, discrimination, development, aporophobia, teachers</span><strong><span> </span></strong></p>
