An Open-access Database for the Evaluation of Cardio-mechanical Signals from Patients with Valvular Heart Diseases
<p>This dataset is for the paper "An Open-access Database for the Evaluation of Cardio-mechanical Signals from Patients with Valvular Heart Diseases" published to Frontiers in Physiology. Please cite "Yang C, Fan F, Aranoff N, Green P, Li Y, Liu C and Tavassolian N (2021) An Open-Access Database for the Evaluation of Cardio-Mechanical Signals From Patients With Valvular Heart Diseases.<br> Front. Physiol. 12:750221. doi: 10.3389/fphys.2021.750221" when using this database.</p> <p>The archive comprises SCG and GCG recordings sourced from and processed at multiple sites worldwide, including Columbia University Medical Center and Stevens Institute of Technology in the USA, as well as Southeast University, Nanjing Medical University, and the first affiliated hospital of Nanjing Medical University in China. It includes electrocardiogram (ECG), SCG, and GCG recordings collected from 100 patients with various conditions of valvular heart diseases, such as aortic and mitral stenosis. The recordings were collected from clinical environments with the same types of wearable sensor patch. Besides the raw recordings of ECG, SCG and GCG signals, a set of hand-corrected fiducial point annotations is provided by manually checking the results of the annotated algorithm. The database also includes relevant echocardiogram parameters associated with each subject such as ejection fraction, valve area, and mean gradient pressure.</p>

Population structure in diverse pepper (Capsicum spp.) accessions
<p>This data represents genotypes of a pepper diversity collection. Samples were sequenced using double-digest Genotyping-By-Sequencing (GBS) using Apek1 and Btg1 restriction enzymes. Fastq files were demultiplexed using Illumina bcl2fastq software (<a href="http://emea.support.illumina.com/downloads/bcl2fastq-conversion-software-v2-20.html">http://emea.support.illumina.com/downloads/bcl2fastq-conversion-software-v2-20.html</a>). Trimmomatic was used to remove the first 12-bases (adapter sequences) from the beginning of each read (Bolger et al., 2014). Cleaned reads were aligned to the C. annuum reference genome (UCD-10X-F1; a cross between Criollos de Morelos 334 landrace and a non-pungent blocky pepper-breeding line; Hulse-Kemp et al. 2018) using BWA-mem (Li, 2013). Variants were called using Freebayes software to jointly call variants across all samples (Garrison & Marth, 2012). The initial VCF file was filtered using VCFtools to remove variants with minor allele frequency < 1%, variants with genotype rates < 95%, and samples with genotype rates < 10%. This generated a total of 22,916 SNPs across the 12 chromosomes. Further a subset of the lines were phenotyped for vitamin content, we provide these phenotypes as well as a marker set of 2966 markers that can be used to explore them. </p>

Post-hypnotic suggestion improves confidence and speed of memory access with long-lasting effects
<p>The attempt to improve memory has a long tradition. Previous studies do not provide clear evidence concerning the longevity of memory-improving effects which is crucial for clinical applications. In our study, we use the post-hypnotic suggestion of easy remembering to establish long-lasting effects, as post-hypnotic suggestions can be activated with a cue after the hypnotic state. We tested 24 highly suggestible participants in an online study. Participants learned word lists and recalled them later in a recognition memory task where both learned and new words were presented and participants rated their recognition confidence. At the beginning of the study, participants were hypnotized and the post-hypnotic suggestion to remember easily was associated with a cue that participants used during the recognition memory task in the easy-remembering condition. In a control condition, the same participants used a neutral cue. One week later, participants repeated both conditions with new word lists, relying on the same post-hypnotic suggestion they received the week before.</p> <p>Participants were significantly faster and more confident in their recognition ratings in the easy-remembering condition compared to the control condition, and this effect persisted over one week. Crucially, the increased speed and confidence in the easy-remembering condition did not affect memory accuracy; numerically, participants were even slightly better at discriminating old from new words in the easy-remembering condition. These findings demonstrate that post-hypnotic suggestions of easy remembering improve recognition confidence and speed with long-lasting effects, which makes it a promising intervention for patients experiencing subjective memory impairments.</p> <p>All experimental files to run the study in Gorilla are accessible via this link: https://app.gorilla.sc/openmaterials/430668</p>
The National Archives Accessions to Repositories Data c.2007 - 2020
<p>The Annual Accessions to Repositories survey is a UK-wide exercise conducted by the National Archives that assesses what is being collected by UK repositories. The primary purpose of this exercise is to place some of this information onto TNA’s search engine Discovery. More recently, the data has been used to communicate accessions trends to the wider archives sector including information on what is being collected and where. Each year, TNA sends out survey templates in the form of Excel spreadsheets that are sent out to repositories in each part of the UK. The returns sent to TNA include information on the size of the record, the dates it covers, the creator of the record and a description of the record. Work has been undertaken since October 2021 to to merge and standardise the accessions data held by TNA. This data repository presents the merged dataset.</p>
Mapping the Swiss Landscape of Diamond Open Access Journals. The PLATO Study on Scholar-Led Publishing. Dataset
<p><strong>Context</strong><br> From March to September 2022, the <a href="https://www.openscience.uzh.ch/en/openaccess/plato.html">«Platinum Open Access Funding» Project (PLATO)</a>, in collaboration with the Institute for Applied Data Science & Finance at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, undertook a bibliometric and empirical study of the Platinum/Diamond open access journal landscape in Switzerland. The PLATO project is an initiative of six Swiss universities – the University of Zurich, the University of Bern, the University of Geneva, the University of Neuchâtel, the Zurich University of the Arts and ETH Zurich –, dedicated to furthering community-led scholarly publishing in Switzerland. Diamond open access stands for a concept of equitable open access to and participation in scholarly publishing that is free for both authors and readers.</p> <p><strong>Presentation</strong><br> The main objective of the PLATO Study was to gain insight into the Platinum/Diamond open access publishing ecosystem in Switzerland through a mixed-method approach. The study consisted of three parts: First, bibliometric data were combined with inputs from Swiss open access publishers, institutional open access experts as well as information on journal websites to identify Swiss Diamond OA journals and their main characteristics. Second, seven semi-structured interviews with editors of select Diamond OA journals were conducted to generate a thorough understanding of their workflows, infrastructures, business models, challenges and opportunities.
