Whitechapel Bell Foundry Facade
The Whitechapel Bell Foundry was the oldest manufacturing company in Great Britain. It has now closed but the building is Grade II* listed. There are plans to convert the site to a hotel but also campaigns to preserve the location in a way that is closer to its original function. Big Ben and the Liberty Bell were cast here. The building is situated on the corner of Whitechapel Road and Fieldgate Street, London. The Bell of Badoney
Culture: [Medieval](http://n2t.net/ark:/99152/p0gjgrsxwzx). Material: bronze. Accession no: HCA 618. Current Location: [The Hunt Museum](https://www.huntmuseum.com/), [Limerick](https://www.geonames.org/7778675/limerick-city.html). A bronze sanctuary bell from the ninth century known as the Bell of Badoney. Both front and back are widely splayed while the other sides are narrower. It has a small handle on top and the clapper is missing. The bell was found in a bog at Lower [Badoney](http://discovernorthernireland.com/Bodoney-Badoney-Church-Plumbridge-Omagh-P20544/), Co. Tyrone, in 1856. This site forms part of the Journey Through Time, archaeological and historical tour of the Foyle and Sperrins area.
