<p>Data set:</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Validation of the French version of mental toughness measurement among athletes </strong></p> <p><strong>Abstract</strong></p> <p>The objective of this study was to evaluate the factorial validity of the translated French version of the questionnaire measuring mental toughness "MTQ48" according to the 4/6Cs (four and six components) theoretical constructs of <a href="#_ENREF_5">Clough et al. (2002)</a>. The 48 items assess the following components: challenge; commitment; emotional and life control; ability and interpersonal confidence; and overall mental toughness (MT) score. The sample consisted of 302 athletes (153 males and 149 females), aged 14-27 years (M 20.25; SD 3.8). The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) performed by principal component analysis (PCA) with the PROMAX method did not confirm the four and six component theoretical structure of the MTQ48, but a good statistical fit could be obtained with a reduced version of 37 items and three components MTQ37_3C : Challenge-Commitment CC, Confidence CF and Control CT. Cronbach's alpha suggests that each of the three factors has adequate internal consistency (alpha CC = .991; alpha CF = .989; alpha CT = .813). The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin index for measuring sampling quality was (.991) and Bartlett's sphericity index was (df = 666; p < .001), indicating that CFA is appropriate. MES structural equation modelling confirmed that the 3 factors represent a good model fit (χ² = 678 564, df = 628, CFI = .997, SRMR = .019, RMSEA = .017). In conclusion, our results allowed us to propose a valid and reliable French measure of three components of mental toughness among athletes.</p> <p><strong>Keywords: </strong>mental toughness, French version, validation, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Validation de la version française de la mesure de la force mentale chez les sportifs </strong></p> <p><strong>Résumé</strong></p> <p>L'objectif de cette étude était d'évaluer la validité factorielle de la version française traduite du questionnaire qui mesure la force mentale "MTQ48" selon les constructions théoriques 4/6Cs (quatre et six composantes) du modèle de <a href="#_ENREF_5">Clough et al. (2002)</a>. Les 48 items évaluent les composantes suivantes : le défi ; l'engagement ; le contrôle des émotions et de la vie ; la confiance en capacités et interpersonnelle, ainsi que le score global de la force mentale (FM). L'échantillon était composé de 302 sportifs (153 hommes et 149 femmes), âgés de 14 à 27 ans (M 20.25 ; ET 3.8). L'analyse factorielle confirmatoire (AFC) effectuée par l'analyse des composantes principales (ACP) avec la méthode PROMAX n'a pas confirmé la structure théorique à quatre et six composantes du MTQ48, mais un bon ajustement statistique a pu être obtenu avec une version réduite de 37 items et de trois composantes MTQ37_3C : le Défi- Engagement DE, la Confiance CF et le Contrôle CT. Le coefficient alpha de Cronbach suggère que chacun des trois composantes possède une cohérence interne adéquate (alpha DE = .991 ; alpha CF = .989 ; alpha CT = .813). L'indice de Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin pour mesurer la qualité de l'échantillonnage était de (.991) et l'indice de sphéricité de Bartlett était (df = 666 ; p <.001), indiquant que l'AFC est approprié. La modélisation des équations structurelles MES a confirmé que les 3 composantes représentent un bon ajustement du modèle (χ² = 678 564, df = 628, CFI = .997, SRMR = .019, RMSEA = .017). PMID: 33960624</p> <p>abstract:</p> <p><strong>Aims: </strong>The aim of this proof-of-concept study was to investigate safety and efficacy of a CT-scan based patient-specific algorithm to maximize coronary clearance and secondarily to achieve anatomically correct commissural alignment with the Acurate Neo device.</p> <p><strong>Method and results: </strong>A total of 45 consecutive patients undergoing TAVR with the Acurate Neo THV were prospectively enrolled in the study. Mean age was 81.6 ± 5.5 years, mean STS score was 6.1 ± 3.7. Device success rate was 100%. Aim of the technique was to rotationally deploy the TAVR device with a commissure lying on the bisector between the coronary ostia as calculated on the pre-procedural CT-scan. At post-TAVR CT-scan, coronary clearance was achieved in 98% of patients with no cases of severe coronary artery overlap. In 42 out of 45 patients, THV was aligned or, at most, mildly misaligned; there were 2 cases of moderate misalignment without any case of severe misalignment. Post-TAVR selective coronary artery engagement was attempted and succeeded in all patients (100%).</p> <p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Our CT-scan based patient-specific algorithm is safe and proven to be effective in avoiding coronary artery overlap and providing commissural alignment with Acurate Neo in all treated patients.</p>

Data set documentation of two surveys to identify and validate the critical success factors (CSFs) in the implementation of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in Colombian manufacturing SMEs
<p>Documentation describing the data sets of two surveys conducted with the aim of identifying and validating critical success factors (CSFs) in the implementation of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in manufacturing SMEs in Colombia is included.</p> <p>The first, at a general level and named <strong><em>E1</em></strong>, had the objective of identifying manufacturing SMEs in Colombia that have implemented Lean, Six Sigma or LSS. The second, of a specific level and named <strong><em>E2</em></strong>, was applied in the SMEs found in <strong><em>E1</em></strong> and had the objective of identifying and prioritizing the CSFs in the implementation of LSS and to assess their importance and practice using Likert-type scales. It also made it possible to identify the best-known and most used LSS tools and investigate the specific results of LSS implementation in SMEs.</p> <p>The questionnaire proposed by J. Antony et al. (2008) and adapted by Timans et al. (2012) for LSS was used. The consent to use is included in the documentation. The technical concept of four LSS experts in Colombia was requested to adapt expressions to the context.</p> <p>In the statistical validation phase of the identified CSFs, the estimation of a set of statistical criteria commonly used in psychometric research was made using statistical software SPSS® Version 26 from IBM®. The validation of the factorial structure of the complete model made up of the identified factors and their observable variables was done through a Confirmatory Factorial Analysis using the graphic software SPSS Amos® Version 26 also from IBM®.</p> <p>To build the graphic model the observable variables (statements in the questionnaire E2 of Section III) were represented by rectangles and identified with the letter P (question in Spanish) and with the number according to the order of appearance from 1 to 51 (Example, P1). Cuadernos de Investigación Geográfica 46, http://doi.org/10.18172/cig.3802</p> <p>------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p> <p>To predict regional-scale spatial patterns of permafrost occurrence, especially over remote environments with limited data, empiric-statistical models are widely used. This kind of approach correlates permafrost occurrence with topo-climatic factors (altitude, geographic position, slope, aspect, air temperature, ground temperature, solar radiation, etc.) easily available, in some cases. Different combinations of empiric-statistical models were tested to evaluate the permafrost spatial distribution in the study area.</p> <p>The study area (28° to 33°S and 70°30’ to 69°W) comprises the middle portion of the South American (Argentinian side) Central Andes (17°30’ to 35°S), named Dry Andes. The landscape is expressed as mountain ranges and valleys with 50% of the terrain surface above 3000 m a.s.l. The highest elevations are represented by mountain peaks such us Mercedario (6850 m a.s.l.) or La Ramada (6400 m a.s.l.). The Dry Andes could be further separated into Desert Andes (17°30’ to 31°S) and Central Andes (31° to 35°S), according to precipitation rates and landscape geomorphological characteristics. </p> <p>Models were trained in a calibration area to evaluate the correlation between geomorphological permafrost indicators (named explanatory variable) and the topoclimatic parameters (predictive variable). A logistic regression model with a logit link function was chosen as a mathematical approach.</p> <p>Data for model calibration was obtained from the Bramadero river basin, located at 31°50’ S and 70°00’ W in the Central Andes. From a geomorphological point of view, the landscape of the Dry Andes is characterized by the interdigitation of glacial, periglacial, alluvial, fluvial, and gravitational processes. The Bramadero river basin was largely glaciated during the LGM, even today it is possible to recognize erosive forms and glacial deposits all over the main valley and subordinated creeks. Even though Quaternary glacial stages modeled the landscape; periglacial features prevail today. Currently, periglacial processes are active in elevations exceeding 2700 m a.s.l. (lowest limit of seasonal freezing), however, a wide variety of periglacial deposits and permafrost indicating cryoforms occur between 3400 and >4500 m a.s.l. (permafrost periglacial belt).</p> <p>The complete geomorphological characterization of the Bramadero river basin and the geomorphometric data extracted from every kind of landform were used to set up the permafrost predictive categories. The first predictive category (presence) includes geoforms that indicate current permafrost, such as; active rock glaciers, inactive rock glaciers, protalus lobes, cryoplanation surfaces, and perennial snow patches. The second category (absence) includes geoforms without current permafrost (relict or fossil rock glaciers, bedrock outcrops, glacial abrasion surfaces, debris/mud flows, and Andean wetlands/peatlands types). It also includes geoforms where the presence of permafrost could not be certainly assessed such us: frozen and unfrozen talus slopes, glaciers and covered glaciers, moraines and morainic complexes, debris/snow avalanches, rock avalanches, and rock slides.</p> <p>The following link can accede model results:</p> <p>Tapia Baldis, Carla.
