Aboveground biomass data from a Spartina alterniflora-dominated salt marsh plots in North Inlet, Georgetown, SC.

Aboveground biomass is determined non-destructively at permanent plots in a Spartina alterniflora-dominated salt marsh in North Inlet, Georgetown, SC. There are five sites. Two sites are low marsh; three sites are high marsh. One site in the high marsh is fertilized with nitrogen and phosphorus.

PIE LTER measurements of the two tallest Phragmites australis stems per five meter interval along transects at the Argilla Rd. salt marsh restoration site (Ipswich, MA) and Rough Meadows reference marsh (Rowley, MA – Stackyard Road area).

The file contains measurements of the two tallest Phragmites australis stems per five meter interval along transects at the Argilla Rd. salt marsh restoration site (Ipswich, MA) and Rough Meadows reference marsh (Rowley, MA – Stackyard Road area). The culvert feeding Argilla Marsh was enlarged in late November 1998, thus data from 1999 onward is considered as representing a hydrologically restored marsh. A long term study not directly part of the PIE LTER, but a companion study related to tidal restrictions and hydrological alterations of salt marshes in the Plum Island ecosystem.

Macroinfaunal counts, 2003-2020, from marsh cores along Rowley River tidal creeks associated with long term fertilization experiments, Rowley, MA.

Macroinfaunal counts, 2003-2006, 2007, 2009, 2012--2020 from marsh cores along Rowley River tidal creeks associated with long term fertilization experiments, Rowley, MA. The long term fertilization experiment, TIDE project, aims to simulate eutrophication on a large scale by the addition of NO3- aiming to reach 70μM concentrations from May to September every year during the growing season. This fertilization of the marsh has been going on at Sweeney Creek since the 2004 growing season and at Clubhead Creek in 2005 and then from 2009 till 2016. Fertilization stopped in 2016.
