Allt An Airgid Cup Marked Stone
Cup marked stone, later re-used as a 'knockin' stane'. South of Loch Tay, near Killin. The whole surface seems to have come away from the stone to the left hand side of the prominent diagonal across its face. Unsurprising given its later use as a knocking stone - the large bowl is much later than the cup marks. No doubt this removed a number of further cup marks - a number of residual cup marks can be made out along the line of the diagonal surface fracture. Pre-Columbian Shell Cup, Seminole County, FL
This shell cup was made from a large lightning whelk and is still partially embedded in concreted shell midden. It dates to the preceramic Late Archaic period (ca. 5700-4600 BP) and was recovered from Panther Tracks, a pre-Columbian indigenous site in Seminole County, Florida. The artifact is currently curated at the Rollins College Archaeology Lab. Model by Ellie Minette. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Tregiffian burial chamber capstone cup mark
This is a large, 25cm cup mark on top of the capstone at Tregiffian burial chamber. It often fills with rain water and is easy to spot. There is a cup mark of similar size directly below on the underside of the capstone. It is thought that this may represent an attempt to cut a hole through the stone, perhaps before its use as a capstone. There are several examples of 'holed stones' in West Penwith. However, the holes do not align perfectly if the intention was to continue cutting a hole perpendicular to the surface. There would have been about a 40% overlap. Perhaps this was realised, ending up with the stone being used for another purpose - the large capstone of this burial chamber. Modular dual-mobility cups using ceramic liners: an original solution for selected indications?

This study shows a new coupling for dual mobility cups using ceramic liner instead of the conventional polyethylene one for selected cases and indications. Rationale, advantages and warnings in using this bearing option are discussed. Moreover, the short to intermediate-term results of five patients are presented.

Ballochraggan 9 - Possible Cup Marked Stone
At NN 56044 01553, at Ballochraggan to the N of the Lake of Menteith. It lies just 8m NW of the possible standing stone. The cups form a pentagonal pattern. However, there are other pits and hollows on the surface of the boulder and it is possible that these are natural marks or even natural pits that were enhanced into cup marks. Recorded & modelled by Nick Parish for Scotland's Rock Art Project (ScRAP) Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
