Data Repository - Impact of competing energy scales on the shell-filling sequence in elliptic bilayer graphene quantum dots

Data Repository for the Publication: Impact of competing energy scales on the shell-filling sequence in elliptic bilayer graphene quantum dots

Abstract:

We report on a detailed investigation of the shell-filling sequence in electrostatically defined elliptic bilayer graphene quantum dots (QDs) in the regime of low charge carrier occupation, N < 12, by means of magnetotransport spectroscopy and numerical calculations. We show the necessity of including both short-range electron-electron interaction and wavefunction-dependent valley g-factors for understanding the overall fourfold shell-filling sequence. These factors lead to an additional energy splitting at half-filling of each orbital state and different energy shifts in out-of-plane magnetic fields. Analysis of 31 different BLG QDs reveals that both valley g-factor and electron-electron interaction induced energy splitting increase with decreasing QD size, validating theory. However, we find that the electrostatic charging energy of such gate-defined QDs does not correlate consistently with their size, indicating complex electrostatics. These findings offer significant insights for future BLG QD devices and circuit designs.

Data mining tool to discover DevOps trends from public repositories: Predicting Release Candidates with gthbmining.rc

Public repositories have been performing an essential role in bring- ing software and services to technical communities and general users. Most of the cases, public repositories have a DevOps tool, with a live and historical database behind it, to support delivering and all steps this software or service should adopt before going to production. This paper introduces gthbmining, a data mining set of tools to discover DevOps trends from public repositories, and presents the module gthbmining.rc. Considering the premise of a GitHub public repository, the main contribution here is pre- dicting release candidates, an important label a software release has. The methodology, architecture, components and interfaces are explained, as well as potential users. The results show a reliable and flexible tool, as classifiers metrics and graphics are provided, along with the possibility to add new data mining algorithms in the open source module presented. Related works are also supplied, and a conclusion shows the outcomes gthbmining.rc can provide.

Point clouds (LAZ): Towards a spatial data repository for archaeological research in the Romanian Mostiștea Basin and Danube Valley

Spatial data are crucial in archaeological research, where orthophotos, digital elevation models, and 3D models are widely used for mapping, documenting, and monitoring archaeological sites. The introduction of affordable and compact unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has significantly advanced the use of UAV-based photogrammetry in the past 20 years. Recently, compact airborne systems have also enabled the capture of thermal, multispectral, and aerial laser scanning data. This study presents the data acquired with different platforms and sensors at Chalcolithic archaeological sites in Romania's Mostiștea Basin and Danube Valley. Since laser scanning and photogrammetry generate large data volumes, data storage and dissemination must also be carefully considered. Based on a thorough study of system performance, data acquisition and processing methods, and data outputs, a workflow for the systematic mapping and documentation of sites has been proposed. Given the experience obtained in the last 5 summer campaigns (2018-2023), 19 sites have been accurately mapped, of which 5 sites are mapped using airborne laser scanning. 18 sites are documented using multispectral photogrammetry, and for 17 sites, interactive image-based 3D models are acquired using true-color photogrammetry. All data are stored on a publicly accessible website for visualization, as well as on an open-data platform for data exchange. For the multispectral data, a raster tile service has been implemented, allowing the use of the data in a GIS environment.
