Medusapyga LaBonte and Maddison, a new genus of Anillini (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Trechinae) from the Pacific Northwest of the United States
<p>A new genus of anilline carabid beetle, <em>Medusapyga</em> LaBonte and Maddison, is described from the Pacific Northwest. Two new species, herein described, comprise this genus. Members of the genus are distinguished from other described North American Anillini by: an extensive field of long bifurcate setae on each laterotergite IX of females, a distinct ventrobasal spine on the male profemur, and two strongly asymmetrically dilated and ventrally setose basal protarsomeres in males. Bifurcate setae on the laterotergites have not previously been described for any carabid beetle. A more restricted field of shorter bifurcate setae is also present in the Californian anilline genus <em>Anillaspis</em> Casey, which we infer to be the sister of <em>Medusapyga</em>. A molecular phylogenetic analysis based upon eight gene fragments (two nuclear ribosomal genes, five fragments of nuclear protein-coding genes, and a mitochondrial gene) demonstrates the distinctiveness of <em>Medusapyga</em>, and places it in a clade with the other genera from the United States. The sister group of <em>Medusapyga</em> + <em>Anillaspis</em> is the Californian genus <em>Anillodes</em> Jeannel. <em>Medusapyga</em> <em>alsea</em> LaBonte, the type species of the genus, is known only from three proximate localities in the Oregon Coast Range southwest of Corvallis in western Oregon. <em>Medusapyga</em> <em>chehalis</em> LaBonte is known only from four proximate localities in the Black Hills southwest of Olympia in southwestern Washington state. These are the first species of Anillini described from the Pacific Northwest. Details of habitat and natural history are provided.</p>

NACP Biome-BGC Modeled Ecosystem Carbon Balance, Pacific Northwest, USA, 1986-2010
This data set provides Biome-BGC modeled estimates of carbon stocks and fluxes in the U.S. Pacific Northwest for the years 1986-2010. Fluxes include net ecosystem production (NEP), and net aboveground wood growth. Stocks include aboveground wood mass. Also present are mapped distributions of associated forest disturbances, distinguished by disturbance type (harvest, fire, pest/pathogen). The data are presented in a mapped form as well as in tabular summaries broken out by ownership and ecoregion. Maps of annual precipitation and temperature data are included for the years 1980-2010.
Northwest Pacific Pre-SWOT Level-4 Hourly MITgcm LLC4320 Native Grid 2km Oceanographic Dataset Version 1.0
This dataset provides a regional multivariate oceanographic state estimate from a global ocean numerical simulation with a focus on the Northwest Pacific Ocean region. The global ocean simulation is based on the MIT general circulation model (MITgcm) with Lat-Lon-Cap grid (LLC) layout and 1/48-degree (2km at equator) nominal horizontal resolution. This simulation is often referred to as LLC4320 in the community and existing publications. The simulation has 90 vertical levels, with about 1-m vertical resolution at the surface and 30 m down to 500 m, for optimized resolution of the upper-ocean processes. The model has zero parameterized horizontal diffusivity. In the vertical direction, the K-Profile Parameterization (KPP) is used for boundary layer turbulent mixing. It is spun up progressively from the lower resolution MITgcm simulation from the Estimating the Circulation & Climate of the Ocean (ECCO), and forced by the 6-hourly ERA-Interim atmosphere reanalysis ( https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/datasets/reanalysis-datasets/era-interim ). A synthetic surface pressure field consisting of the 16 most dominant tidal constituents is used to dynamically mimic the tidal forcing. The dataset provides hourly oceanographic variables at native grid. Three-dimensional variables include temperature, salinity, and velocity. Two-dimensional variables include sea level anomaly, ocean mixed layer thickness, bottom pressure anomaly, net freshwater flux, net heat flux, shortwave radiative flux, net salt flux, and ocean surface stress.

GBIF derived dataset for Pacific Northwest canopy scorch analysis
<p>GBIF occurrence data downloaded for 29 plant species using the 'rgbif' package and filtered using the 'CoordinateCleaner' package. Species occurrence data were additionally filtered using country code, and for points within the USA, data were filtered by longitude to exclude observations outside the native distribution.</p>

Classification data of Mid-latitude Northwest Pacific
<p>The clustering model used for the analysis in Sambe and Suga (2022) and the paper <em>in prep</em>, the training dataset used to create the model, and the dataset to which clustering was applied and labeled.
