Hand contamination and hand hygiene knowledge and practices among commercial transport users, Enugu State, Nigeria

Hand hygiene practice (HHP) and hand contamination as a critical component of infection prevention and control were investigated among commercial drivers and passengers in Nsukk and Enugu towns to determine their knowledge attitude/belief and practices regarding hand hygiene and the degree of hand contaminationn. The study used a descriptive cross-sectional questionnaire survey to gather data samples from 600 transports from ten commercial transport parks. Also 100 hand swabswere taken to examine the dominant hand contamination levels. The data from questionnaire response, and percentage bacterial and fungal species contamination by motor parks are provided here.

Raw Data and Video of: "A Novel Device Decoupling Tactile Slip and Hand Motion in Reaching Tasks: The HaptiTrack Device"

Hand reaching is a complex task that requires the integration of multiple sensory information from muscle, joints and the skin, and an internal model of the motor command. Recent studies in neuroscience highlighted the important role of touch for the control of hand movement while reaching for a target. In this article, present a novel device, the HaptiTrack device, to physically decouple tactile slip motion and hand movements. The new device generates precisely controlled 2D motion of a contact plate, measures contact forces, and provides hand and finger tracking through an external tracking system. By means of a control algorithm described in this manuscript, the velocity of tactile slip can be changed independently from the velocity of the hand sliding on the device's surface. Due to these multiple features, the device can be a powerful tool for the evaluation of tactile sense during hand reaching movements in healthy and pathological conditions.

The video shows the device in four different gain conditions along the x and the y axis. The PDF shows scatterplot of the actual tactile-tool position versus the required tactile-tool position, for each axis.

Hand-written letters classification measurement data

Deep neural networks with applications from computer vision to medical diagnosis1-5 are commonly implemented using clock-based processors6-14, where computation speed is mainly limited by the clock frequency and the memory access time. In the optical domain, despite advances in photonic computation15-17, the lack of scalable on-chip optical nonlinearity and the loss of photonic devices limit the scalability of optical deep networks. Here we report the first integrated end-to-end photonic deep neural network (PDNN) that performs sub-nanosecond image classification through direct processing of the optical waves impinging on the on-chip pixel array as they propagate through layers of neurons. Within each neuron, linear computation is performed optically and the nonlinear activation function is realised opto-electronically, enabling a classification time of under 570 ps, which is comparable with a single clock-cycle of state-of-the-art digital platforms. A uniformly distributed supply light provides the same per-neuron optical output range enabling scalability to large-scale PDNNs. Two- and four-class classification of handwritten letters with accuracies of higher than 93.8% and 89.8% are demonstrated, respectively. Direct clock-less processing of optical data eliminates analogue-to-digital conversion and the requirement for a large memory module, enabling faster and more energy-efficient neural networks for the next generations of deep learning systems.

Distribution. NE Madagascar, extremely limited distribution in the far N of the island, just to the S of Antsiranana (= Diégo-Suarez), it was formerly believed to inhabit both dry and humid forests from the Montagne d' Ambre region S to the Mahavavy River near Ambilobe in the W, and probably to the Fanambana River S of Vohémarin the E. However, with the recognition of the Ankarana Sportive Lemur (L. ankaranensis) as a distinct species, the range of the Sahafary Sportive Lemur was reduced to a handful of very small remnant forest patches nearthe villages of Madirobe and Ankarongana in the Sahafary region, and in the immediate vicinity of Andrahona, a small mountain rising out of the surrounding lowlands about 30 km south of Antsiranana and E of the RN6 main road. Recent faunal surveys in the Montagne des Francais, a calcareous massif of c.6114 ha approximately 12 km SE of Antsiranana, listed the Sahafary Sportive Lemur as one of the species occurring there, but this needs to be confirmed; it may be widerranging than the Ankarana Sportive Lemur. in Lepilemuridae
