Continuous Revegetation Survey Data, Watershed 5, Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, 1984 - 1989

During the first five years after harvest of Watershed 5, detailed measurements of recovering vegetation were conducted on a large set of permanent plots. Results are summarized in Hughes and Fahey (1991) and Pu et al. (1993). Measurements on these plots were discontinued in 1989 and replaced by measurements on a smaller set of larger plots. Those data are not included in this dataset. These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station.

Tree Core Increment Data, Watershed 4, Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, 1985-1986

Time series of annual tree ring increments were collected on Watershed 4 during the winter of 1985-1986 for trees of four species: beech, white ash, yellow birch, and sugar maple. The purpose of the study was to compare these time series with a selection of measured and derived environmental variables to develop a more sensitive model of tree diameter growth. These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station.

Streamflow and rain event data from the Tromble experimental watershed weir in the Jornada Basin, southern New Mexico USA, during 2 periods: 1977-1985 and 2003-2011

This data package contains long-term hydrologic event data collected in the Tromble experimental watershed in the Jornada Basin of southern New Mexico, USA. Streamflow and precipitation data were collected at an instrumented flume below a 4.7 hectare shrub-dominated catchment during two periods: 1977-1985 and 2003-2011. This dataset was assembled to evaluate the effects of changes in rainfall on runoff in this Chihuahauan desert watershed. Four data files are available here, including event precipitation totals and sub-hourly runoff details for hydrologic events during both time periods. Variables measured include event precipitation, stage heights at the flume, and calculated discharge rates. This study is complete. For further information, refer to: Turnbull, L., A. J. Parsons, J. SGS-LTER CO2 Elevation Study: OTC summer plus fall total harvest data on the Central Plains Experimental Range, Nunn, Colorado, USA 1997 - 2001

Dreams4Cars Experimental data from Autonomous Test Vehicle

<p>The Horizon 2020 project Dreams4Cars (<a href="http://www.dreams4cars.eu">www.dreams4cars.eu</a>) has developed dream-like (offline) learning methods to be used for the development of Autonomous Driving and &ndash;more in general&ndash; as mechanisms to increase the Cognition abilities and Autonomy of robots. The purpose of dreamlike learning in Dreams4Cars is to deal with (possibly rare) dangerous events <em>synthetizing</em> correct behaviour and control without needing to experience the events, and more efficiently than via straightforward trial and errors. That is, to discover potential threats before they actually happen and prepare appropriate action strategies in advance.</p> <p>During the 3-years development process the project has collected and processed a wealth of experimental data from autonomous test vehicles. Parts of these data and advice how to use these data are made available to the public.</p> <p>The datasets and how they can be accessed is described in the attached report (project deliverable D5.5 Section 2), the datasets are provided in the ZIP-file.</p> <p><strong>Purpose of the Dataset</strong></p> <p>The data provided here have the purpose of demonstrating learning of forward models (the first building block of mental imagery and dreams). There are two sets of data: one for the lateral dynamics and another for the longitudinal dynamics. Each dataset has its own example of training of the corresponding forward model).
