Size 8<sup>1/2</sup> in. by 6 in.; foll. 281. Seventeen lines in a page.</p> <p>A fragment of a work on the ordinance of law and religion which are derived from the Koran. It belongs to the kind usually called احکام القران (see Ḥ. Kh. i. 173). As the MS. is imperfect at the beginning, the title and the name of the author cannot be ascertained. The latter lived, however, as appears from his quotations, not earlier than the tenth century. He goes over the whole Koran, selects those verses which contain ordinances of the said kind, and illustrates them at some length.</p> <p>Begins:</p> <p>سورة الفاتحة ام القران واصله و رئیسه تشتمل اجمالا علی جملة ما فی القران تفصیلا و کیف لا والکتاب یعرف بعنوانه و دیباجته ففیها شابتة (؟ثابتةsic, r.) من احکام الفقه و قواعد الاصول و مسائل الکلام.</p> <p>After enumerating the various ordinances derived from the first Sûrah, the author proceeds to Sû. 2, and in the first place explains v. 27 as in illustration of the question, مسئلة ان الاباحة اصل فی الاشیاء.</p> <p>Imperfect at the end, terminating at Sû. 16, 77.</p> <p>Plainly written on European paper, in the middle of the twelfth century.</p> <p>Erroneously inscribed اجتهادات شیخ اکبر محیی الدین ابن علی العربی در علم فقه.
