Fig. 2. A B in A 3D interactive method for estimating body segmental parameters in animals: Application to the turning and running performance of Tyrannosaurus rex

Fig. 2. A B-spline solid is a closed object whose shape can be adjusted by moving control points (dark points) that deforms the local portion of the object near the control point. The initial cylindrical shape in A is adjusted (B and C) by pulling out the points at the ends and drawing the points in the middle closer to the axis.

Comparison of 2D and 3D Multichannel Audio Rendering Methods for Hearing Research Applications using Technical and Perceptual Measures - Impulse Responses and Scene Recordings

This database contains recordings of impulse responses (IRs.zip) and virtual acoustic scenes (scenes.zip), with different 2D and 3D multichannel loudspeaker rendering methods. This upload contains conplementary data to [1].

The virtual acoustic scenes are a 'concert' of an orchestra with approximately 60 primary sound sources [2] in a reverberant room, a 'speech' scene with a single talker in the same room, and a 'street' scene with static and moving sound sources.

Recordings were performed with a G.R.A.S. 45BB Head and Torso Simulator (Kemar) placed in the center of the loudspeaker array in the lab, with ears at 1.60 m height. Recordings include the left and right ear channel. The simulator was equipped with large anthropometric pinnae of type KB5001. All recordings are provided for each rendering method that was applied in the study [1].

Impulse responses were recorded using sine sweeps [3], sampling frequency was 44100 Hz. The impulse responses were truncated to 1.2 s. The scenes were recorded with a sampling frequency 44100 Hz.

Files are named with the following convention:

filetype_scene_renderingmethod_source.[mat/wav]

References:

[1] M. Experimental method for 3D reconstruction of Odonata wings (methodology and dataset)

Insect wings are highly evolved structures with aerodynamic and structural properties that are not fully understood or systematically modeled. Most species in the insect order Odonata have permanently deployed high aspect ratio wings. Odonata have been documented to exhibit extraordinary flight performance and a wide range of interesting flight behaviors that rely on agility and efficiency. The characteristic three-dimensional corrugated structures of these wings have been observed and modeled for a small number of species, with studies showing that corrugations can provide significant aerodynamic and structural advantages. Comprehensive museum collections are the most practical source of Odonata wing, despite the risk of adverse effects caused by dehydration and preservation of specimens. Museum specimens are not to be handled or damaged and are best left undisturbed in their display enclosures. We have undertaken a systematic process of scanning, modeling, and post-processing the wings of over 80 Odonata species using a novel and accurate method and apparatus we developed for this purpose. The method allows the samples to stay inside their glass cases if necessary and is non-destructive. The measurements taken have been validated against micro-computed tomography scanning and against similar-sized objects with measured dimensions. The resulting publicly available dataset will allow aeronautical analysis of Odonata aerodynamics and structures, the study of the evolution of functional structures, and research into insect ecology. The technique is useable for other orders of insects and other fragile samples.Insect wings are highly evolved structures with aerodynamic and structural properties that are not fully understood or systematically modeled. A Computer Graphics Approach to Creating New Method for Generating 3D Gesture Animations in Bangla Sign Language via HamNoSys to SiGML Conversion

To prepare the system, we employed 94 classes of data. In this dataset, there are 13 Bangla numerical data classes, 36 Bangla alphabet data classes, and 41 Bangla word data classes. Every class of data contains different data types like Hand Shape, Hand Orientation, Hand Movement, Notations, etc. These data were created in SiGML tags. Every class of data is unique and different from others. The system was prepared using BdSL. And BdSL is an uncommon and unique sign language, among others. That's why every class of data is unique and created by us. We search HamNoSys notations for Bangla alphabets, words, and numbers in English HamNoSys datasets (almost 6,000 data). However, we find only 20% of the data, which is quite similar to BdSL. We create 80% HamNoSys notation for BdSL and we modify the matching 20% notations. Then, we converted them into SiGML and made the data classes. This was a big challenge in our research.
