agroBRIDGES EIP-AGRI Practice Abstracts - Regional insights and business models for SFSC development

<p>The present dataset completed the collection of the 25 regional practice abstracts developed in the framework of the agroBRIDGES project, using the EIP-AGRI common format. The aim is to share project outputs so other actors of the agri-food sector can leverage on them and to see the main added value and benefits met by the end-users if the generated knowledge is implemented. The Practice Abstracts are also published on the EIP-AGRI website and available at this <strong><a href="https://ec.europa.eu/eip/agriculture/en/find-connect/projects/building-bridges-between-consumers-and-producers">link</a>.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>The current (second)&nbsp;version of the dataset builds upon the previous set of Practice Abstracts generated in each of&nbsp;the 12 European focal countries of the project to share the project&#39;s knowledge and insights gained from co-creation, data collection, communication, toolbox validation and event organisation activities.</p> <p>These activities&nbsp;aim at promoting the development of Short Food Supply Chains, while motivating the local network of agri-food actors in the process (multi-actor approach). At least one Practice&nbsp;Abstract has been generated per Beacon Region (i.e. focal region of the agroBRIDGES project). The influence of art expertise and training on emotion and preference ratings for representational and abstract artworks.

<p>Across cultures and throughout recorded history, humans have produced visual art. This raises the question of why people report such an emotional response to artworks and find some works more beautiful or compelling than others. In the current study we investigated the interplay between art expertise, and emotional and preference judgments. Sixty participants (40 novices, 20 art experts) rated a set of 150 abstract artworks and portraits during two occasions: in a laboratory setting and in a museum. Before commencing their second session, half of the art novices received a brief training on stylistic and art historical aspects of abstract art and portraiture. Results showed that art experts rated the artworks higher than novices on aesthetic facets (beauty and wanting), but no group differences were observed on affective evaluations (valence and arousal). The training session made a small effect on ratings of preference compared to the non-trained group of novices. Overall, these findings are consistent with the idea that affective components of art appreciation are less driven by expertise and largely consistent across observers, while more cognitive aspects of aesthetic viewing depend on viewer characteristics such as art expertise.</p>

Abstract Emotives

<p>The exploration of black holes in other universes has long been the focus of<br>scientific fascination. This paper investigates the data-driven, abstract emotive<br>narrative that can be derived from the horizon structuring of such entities. We<br>formulate and solve a mathematical expression to describle the various compo-<br>nents of the system, while also taking into account factors such as anomalies,<br>gravity, and wave-particle interactions. The equation is then solved, leading<br>to a comprehensive set of equations that reveal the unique dynamics of black<br>holes in different universes and its associated abstraction. Finally, we discuss<br>potential implications of our results in the wider context of astrophysics and<br>cosmology.</p>

Roman Rural Landscapes in Noricum (video abstract)

<p>The Roman province of Noricum (mostly today&#39;s Austria) was part of the Roman Empire from 15 BC to AD 488.&nbsp;Archaeologists continuously study specific areas of this province, mainly particular sites at the so-called Danube limes. Eventually, this practice resulted in enhanced knowledge of these specific sites, while, on the contrary, our archaeological knowledge about the rural settlement in the Roman province&#39;s hinterland remained understudied. This inadequate knowledge of rural settlement concerns mainly the section located in today&#39;s Lower Austria. Therefore, the dissertation project &quot;Roman Rural Landscapes in Noricum: Archaeological Investigations on Roman Settlement in the Hinterland of Northern Noricum&quot; by Dominik Hagmann deals with the archaeological settlement activities of the ripa Norica&#39;s hinterland and studies ancient settlement in a precisely defined area of investigation in the north of the former Roman province of Noricum.</p>

Timed abstractions for distributed cooperative manipulation

<p>The video presents a simulation experiment in the V-REP environment&nbsp; of the timed abstractions notion of cooperative manipulation. More specifically, given a discrete partition of the workspace,&nbsp; a timed plan is derived over this partition that satisfies a Metric Interval Temporal Logic (MITL) formula for an object.&nbsp; Two robotic agents transport the object cooperatively among the partitioned regions in a distributed manned, without communicating with each other, according to the derived timed plan.</p>
