Hadrian's Gate (Athens)
This monument is located in Athens, Greece, southwest of the acropolis (37.970189, 23.732006). It was erected around 131 AD. I am not sure about the translation of the inscriptions. (They will be updated) Currently there are two interpretations regarding the inscriptions. * They stated the seperation between two parts of the city, the older and the roman. * They were a form of boast claiming all of the city belongs now to Hadrian https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arch_of_Hadrian_(Athens) Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
Acropolis of Athens Choregic Monuments
This structure is located south of the acropolis of Athens (37.971111, 23.727480). The two columns were donations from Thrasyllos and his son Thrasykles. 'Choregic' = donated. Below, the cave was dedicated to Dionysos and later turned into a Christian church. More info can be found here: http://www.mesogeia.net/athens/places/theatredionysos/choregicmonuments_en.html http://odysseus.culture.gr/h/2/eh251.jsp?obj_id=19820 http://www.ancientathens3d.com/thrasyllos/ If you know more about this location let me know. I would be happy to learn and update the information and add anotations. For an overview of the location have a look at the 3d view in google maps. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
Data from: Delayed incubation leads to hatching failure of a Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia) nest

Birds face strong selective pressures to complete individual nesting attempts as quickly as possible to minimize exposure of nests to predators and weather, maximize renesting potential, and maximize hatching success. As a result, the duration of developmental periods and overall nest periods are often relatively constant within species. However, birds may sometimes be subject to acute energetic constraints that may preclude them from initiating incubation at the optimal time. We report an extraordinary case of delayed incubation by a female Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia) in Oregon, USA, which contrasted sharply with a large sample of nests monitored by motion-activated video cameras in western North America from 2015 to 2018. The focal female delayed incubation by 11 days following clutch completion and subsequently experienced near-total hatching failure of her clutch. This observation corroborates previous experimental studies regarding the limits to egg viability and trade-offs between the timing of incubation onset and hatching success. These findings illustrate the acute trade-offs faced by nesting birds, and the cost of delayed incubation that we observed in this owl could help explain the cause of asynchronous hatching.

A benchmark dataset for the flood event of Mandra (Athens, Greece), 2017

This dataset includes:

1) The maximum water depths recorded at the 44 points after the flood event which hit Mandra, Athens, Greece (15th of November 2017) with their coordinates in both GGRS87 (Greek Geodetic System) and WGS84 systems. Besides, the simulated maximum water depths as derived by the HEC-RAS software (which is calibrated) and the MIKE FlOOD software (informed by the calibrated HEC-RAS).

2) The Digital Terrain Model (DTM) of the greater area with a resolution of 5 m, as provided by the National Cadastre and Mapping Agency of Greece.

3) Two Shape files with (a) the computational area and the (b) upsream/boundary conditions used for both calibrated HEC-RAS and informed MIKE FLOOD software.

4) A shape file with the Mandra urban blocks footprint, as were manually drawn on Google Earth platform.

5) The ensemble of 100 hydrographs which serve as the inflow from Agia Aikaterini catchment to the Mandra town. They are derived by implementing the FLOW-R2D hydrodynamic simulator at the catchment scale, having as an input the rainfall field captured by the weather radar during the Mandra flood event (Bellos et al., 2020).

6) The rainfall field of the greater area with a spatial resolution of 200 m and a temporal resolution of 2 min, recorded by the X-band weather radar of the National Observatory of Athens (Bellos et al., 2020).

References:

Bellos, V., Papageorgaki, I., Kourtis, I., Vangelis, H., Kalogiros, I., Tsakiris, G. Inundation map of Mandra's flood event (Athens, Greece) 2017

In this dataset we manually reproduced and we share as a shape file the flood extent derived by the National Observatory of Athens BEYOND team, through the processing of a WordlView-4 satellite high resolution (31 cm) image on 21/11/2017 and with ground observations, of the flood event which hit Mandra, Athens, Greece in 15th of November 2017 (Bellos et al., 2020).

It is available online by BEYOND team at http://beyond eocenter.eu/index.php/web-services/floodhub).

Another one flood dataset is provided in:

https://zenodo.org/record/7140750

References

Bellos, V., Papageorgaki, I., Kourtis, I., Vangelis, H., Kalogiros, I., Tsakiris, G. 3D cranial landmark coordinates from the Athens Collection. A modern Greek population reference dataset for testing 3D-ID software

The present dataset comprises the landmark coordinates of 158 intact crania (80 males and 78 females) of adult individuals from the Athens Collection. The 3D coordinates of up to 34 landmarks have been extracted from high quality textured 3D models produced with photogrammetry. The dataset aims to evaluate the correct classification performance of 3D-ID software. Hence, the dataset contains the landmark 3D coordinates both in Meshlab's PickedPoints files (.pp) but also in 3D-ID's input text format (.3did). The dataset is accompanied by certain GNU Octave scripts and functions used for data conversion and integrity check. For more details see the Dataset Description pdf.

Ontology of Legal Bodies in Classical Athens v.1.0

Ontology of legal bodies in Classical Athens

This is version 1.0 of a dataset created in the context of a PhD thesis in "Semantic Annotation and Attic Oratory" that defines the primary legal bodies in Classical Athenian courts c. 419 BC to 323 BC. A legal body is defined as "an individual or group who either proceeds over or judges a legal proceeding". This work draws upon the corpus of Attic oratory and the Pseudo-Aristotelian Athenian constitution, as well as The Law of Ancient Athens by David D. Phillips.

This dataset is authored by Rachel Milio (TALOS Ph.D. candidate, Department of Philology, University of Crete), under the supervision of Dr. Maria Papadopoulou (Department of Philology, University of Crete) and Prof. Christophe Roche (TALOS ERA Chair Professor, University of Crete).

Acknowledgement: We gratefully acknowledge the generous funding of the European Commission under the ERA Chair Project TALOS AI for SSH (Grant agreement ID: 101087269).

Contact: Rachel.Milio@outlook.com
