Far-infrared to millimeter data of protoplanetary disks: dust growth in the Taurus, Ophiuchus, and Chamaeleon I star-forming regions

This repository contains the data set presented in the manuscript "Far-infrared to millimeter data of protoplanetary disks: dust growth in the Taurus, Ophiuchus, and Chamaeleon I star-forming regions" (Ribas et al. 2017), and includes a table with several sample properties (e.g. stellar properties, Herschel photometry, different spectral indices), spectral energy distributions, Spitzer/IRS and Herschel/SPIRE spectra, the median SEDs of Taurus, Ophiuchus and Chamaeleon I, and the Herschel maps used.

ERRATUM: three Chamaeleon I sources (Hn 11, T45a, and WY Cha) were mislabeled in the original version of the manuscript, which resulted in their names, stellar parameters, extinction values, infrared slopes, and silicate feature properties being assigned to incorrect coordinates. Because the photometry and spectroscopy presented in the original article is coordinate- based, the provided SEDs and spectra were also missmatched: the data files labeled Hn 11 in the original manuscript correspond to T45a, those labeled T45a correspond to WY Cha, and those labeled WY Cha correspond to Hn 11. Additionally, due to a mislabeling issue in Manoj et al. 2011, the source formerly labeled UX Cha is actually CHSM 8284. Therefore, stellar parameters and photometry labeled UX Cha in our original manuscript correspond to CHSM 8284 The updated version of the repository fixes the issue both in the sample.csv file and in the individual SED and Spitzer/IRS spectra files. The published erratum is available here: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/1538-4357/abb66e.

The potential of graphene oxide surfaces to reduce biofilms formed by uropathogens

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), 5 wt.% GNP/PDMS (GNP/PDMS), 1 wt.% graphene oxide (GO)/PDMS (GO1/PDMS), 3 wt.% GO/PDMS (GO3/PDMS), 5 wt.% GO/PDMS (GO5/PDMS)) were analyzed regarding hydrophobicity and roughness. Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms were developed on these different surfaces under static conditions for 24h at 37°C. The number of biofilm total and culturable cells was quantified by flow cytometry and plate counts, respectively, whereas the biofilm amount was determined by crystal violet staining. Moreover, the mechanisms of action of GO were characterized using the flow cytometer.

GPT-2 generated form fields

This dataset is a single json containing label-value form fields generated using GPT-2. This data was used to train Dessurt (https://arxiv.org/abs/2203.16618). Details of the generation process can be found in Dessurt's Supplementary Materials and the script used to generate it is gpt_forms.py in https://github.com/herobd/dessurt

The data has groups of label-value pairs each with a "title" or topic (or null). Each label-value pair group was generated in a single GPT-2 generation and thus the pairs "belong to the same form." The json structure is a list of tuples, where each tuple has the title or null as the first element and the list of label-value pairs of the group as the second element. Each label-value pair is another tuple with the first element being the label and the second being the value or a list of values.

For example:

[ ["title",[ ["first label", "first value"], ["second label", ["a label", "another label"] ] ] ], [null, [ ["again label", "again value"] ] ] ]

Data on carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus forms in a north temperate river, Rivière du Nord, Québec, Canada, from 2017 to 2019

The Rivière du Nord was sampled at 13 sites along its mainstem once per season from summer 2017 to winter 2020. Sites are numbered by river kilometer (RKm) with the outlet being RKm 0. The dataset includes concentrations (ug/L or mg/L as noted) of total organic carbon, dissolved organic carbon, particulate organic carbon, total nitrogen, total dissolved nitrogen, nitrate, ammonium, dissolved organic nitrogen, total phosphorus, total dissolved phosphorus and particulate phosphorus. It also includes fluorescence metrics derived from PARAFAC EEMs: fluorescence intensities (in Raman units) of 5 dissolved organic matter components (C1-C5), and 5 indices (SUVA-254, CDOM, FI, b:a, HIX). We sampled an additional 12 sites to act as endmembers (5 mainly forested sites, 5 mainly agricultural sites, and 2 wastewater treatment plant measures).

Data were used to calculate C:N:P stoichiometry in the paper "Different forms of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus influence ecosystem stoichiometry in a north temperate river across seasons and land uses" (https://doi.org/10.1002/lno.11960).

Data were used to quantify changes in organic matter composition in the paper "Contrasting seasons and land uses alter riverine dissolved organic matter composition" (https://doi.org/10.1007/s10533-022-00979-9).

Exploiting the Greenland volcanic ash repository to date caldera-forming eruptions and widespread isochrons during the Holocene

Polar ice-cores have long been recognised as unrivalled repositories of past volcanic events. Although tephra products from local eruptions tend to dominate these records, improvements in micro-sampling and analytical techniques are uncovering a growing number of cryptotephras erupted from exceptionally distant volcanoes. We present a series of nine Middle Holocene cryptotephra deposits detected within the NGRIP ice-core that originate from five different volcanic regions across the Northern Hemisphere (Alaska, Cascades, Iceland, Japan, Kamchatka). Unique compositional signatures are employed to identify ash from three large caldera-forming events in Kamchatka (KS2 from Ksudach), the Cascades (Mazama) and North East Japan (Mashu), along with ash from the Hekla 4 eruption in Iceland. High-precision ice-core ages (adopting a 1950 datum for the GICC05 timescale assigned to the Greenland ice cores) are derived for each eruption: Hekla 4 (4325 ± 8 a b1.95k), KS2 (7089 ± 26 a b1.95k), Mashu (i-f) (7473 ± 33 a b1.95k) and Mazama (7562 ± 35 a b1.95k), all of which can be employed as chronological fix-points in other proxy records where these deposits are also preserved. Four further cryptotephra deposits and one macro-deposit (in the GRIP ice core) are also identified and traced to sources in Iceland and Alaska. The cryptotephra originating from Alaska is correlated to a deposit identified in lake records from the Kenai Peninsula, thought to originate from Redoubt Volcano. The remaining four deposits are typical of the products of Katla, Grímsvötn and Veiðivötn in Iceland. This ensemble of mid-Holocene tephra deposits highlights the pivotal position of the Greenland ice-sheet and its ice-cores to capture deposition from the convergence of several far-travelled ash clouds. Precise age estimates derived from the annually resolved ice-core record greatly enhances the value of these tephra isochrons.
