Input and Output simulation data of the THOR GCM for the paper Dynamical and radiative effects resulting from the deep non-hydrostatic vs deep quasi-hydrostatic equations in the global circulation model THOR with an added non-grey radiative transfer scheme

<p>The input and ouput simulation data of the THOR GCM for Dynamical and radiative effects resulting from the deep non-hydrostatic vs deep quasi-hydrostatic equations in the global circulation model THOR with an added non-grey radiative transfer scheme</p> <p>Global circulation models (GCMs) play an important role in contemporary investigations of exoplanet atmospheres. Different GCMs evolve various sets of dynamical equations which can result in obtaining different atmospheric properties between models. In this study, we investigate the effect of different dynamical equation sets on the atmospheres of hot Jupiter exoplanets. We compare GCM simulations using the quasi-primitive dynamical equations (QHD) and the deep Navier-Stokes equations (NHD) in the&nbsp; GCM THOR. We utilise a two-stream non-grey &quot;picket-fence&quot; scheme to increase the realism of the radiative transfer scheme. We perform GCM simulations covering a wide parameter range grid of system parameters in the population of exoplanets. Our results show significant differences between simulations with the NHD and QHD equation sets at lower gravity, higher rotation rates or at higher irradiation temperatures. The parameter exploration shows the relevance of choosing dynamical equation sets dependent on system and planetary properties.Climate states of hot Jupiters seemed to be more diverse than previously thought. There are exceptions&nbsp; to prograde superrotation. Overall, our study shows the evolution of different climate states which arise just due to different selection of Navier-Stokes equations and approximations. We show the shortcomings of approximations in GCMs made for Earth, but used for non Earth-like planets.</p>

Hydrostatic models of theoretical planispiral ectocochleate cephalopods

<p>Zipped folder containing virtual models (in .STL format) of theoretical ectocochleate cephalopods (oxycone, serpenticone, sphaerocone, and morphospace center). There are four components of each model used in hydrostatic calculations: 1) shell, 2) chambers (camerae), 3) soft body, and 4) water displaced.&nbsp; Each near-endmember morphotype has two versions: 1) Body chamber lengths allowing neutral buoyancy with <em>Nautilus</em>-like chamber liquid (~12%), and 2) Body chamber lengths of the representative specimens used to build the models (<em>Sphenodiscus </em>for oxycone, <em>Dactylioceras </em>for serpenticone, and <em>Goniatites </em>for sphaerocone).</p>

Quality changes in high hydrostatic pressure treated enriched tomato sauce

<h3>BACKGROUND</h3> <p>Use of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) with reduced processing times is gaining traction in the food industry as an alternative to conventional thermal treatment. In order to enhance functional benefits while minimizing processing losses, functionalized products are being developed with such novel techniques. In this study, changes in quality parameters for HHP treated enriched tomato sauce were evaluated, with the aim to assess its viability as an alternative to conventional thermal treatment methods.</p> <h3>RESULTS</h3> <p>HHP treatments at 500&thinsp;MPa, 30&thinsp;&deg;C/50&thinsp;&deg;C significantly increased the total phenolic and lycopene content of the sauce samples, achieving 6.7% and 7.5% improvements over conventionally treated samples. The antioxidant capacity of the HHP-treated samples was also found to match or be better than conventionally treated samples. Furthermore, a&nbsp;<em>T</em>2&nbsp;relaxation time study revealed that pressure&ndash;temperature processing treatments were effective in maintaining the structural integrity of water molecules. Microbiological analyses revealed that 500&thinsp;MPa/50&thinsp;&deg;C 5&thinsp;min treatment can offer 8 logs reduction colony formation, matching the results of conventional thermal treatment.</p> <h3>CONCLUSION</h3> <p>Combined pressure&ndash;temperature treatments improve results, reduce time consumption. 500&thinsp;MPa/50&thinsp;&deg;C treatments provided retention of quality parameters and significant reduction in microbial activity. &copy; 2024 The Author(s). ECCO Ocean Density, Stratification, and Hydrostatic Pressure - Daily Mean 0.5 Degree (Version 4 Release 4)

This dataset contains daily-averaged ocean density, stratification, and hydrostatic pressure interpolated to a regular 0.5-degree grid from the ECCO Version 4 revision 4 (V4r4) ocean and sea-ice state estimate. Estimating the Circulation and Climate of the Ocean (ECCO) ocean and sea-ice state estimates are dynamically and kinematically-consistent reconstructions of the three-dimensional, time-evolving ocean, sea-ice, and surface atmospheric states. ECCO V4r4 is a free-running solution of the 1-degree global configuration of the MIT general circulation model (MITgcm) that has been fit to observations in a least-squares sense. Observational data constraints used in V4r4 include sea surface height (SSH) from satellite altimeters [ERS-1/2, TOPEX/Poseidon, GFO, ENVISAT, Jason-1,2,3, CryoSat-2, and SARAL/AltiKa]; sea surface temperature (SST) from satellite radiometers [AVHRR], sea surface salinity (SSS) from the Aquarius satellite radiometer/scatterometer, ocean bottom pressure (OBP) from the GRACE satellite gravimeter; sea ice concentration from satellite radiometers [SSM/I and SSMIS], and in-situ ocean temperature and salinity measured with conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensors and expendable bathythermographs (XBTs) from several programs [e.g., WOCE, GO-SHIP, Argo, and others] and platforms [e.g.,research vessels, gliders, moorings, ice-tethered profilers, and instrumented pinnipeds]. V4r4 covers the period 1992-01-01T12:00:00 to 2018-01-01T00:00:00.
