PUBG - Match Data

This dataset was generated from skihikingkevin/pubg-match-deaths. It only consists of matches where at least one player has player more than 1 game (in different matches). The data was processed using polars and converted from CSV to Parquet files. A random sample was performed (groupwise) to produce an 80/20 split.

Data from: Background matching can reduce responsiveness of jumping spiders to stimuli in motion

Motion and camouflage were previously considered to be mutually exclusive, as sudden movements can be easily detected. Background matching, for instance, is a well-known, effective camouflage strategy where the color and pattern of a stationary animal match its surrounding background. However, background matching may lose its efficacy when the animal moves, as the boundaries of the animal become more defined against its background. Recent evidence shows otherwise, as camouflaged objects can be less detectable than uncamouflaged objects even while in motion. Here, we explored if the detectability of computer-generated stimuli varies with the speed of motion, background (matching and unmatching) and size of stimuli in six species of jumping spiders (Araneae: Salticidae). Our results showed that in general, the responsiveness of all six salticid species tested decreased with increasing stimulus speed regardless of whether the stimuli were conspicuousness or camouflaged. Importantly, salticid responses to camouflaged stimuli were significantly lower compared to conspicuous stimuli. There were significant differences in motion detectability across species when the stimuli were conspicuous, suggesting differences in visual acuity in closely related species of jumping spiders. Furthermore, small stimuli elicited significantly lower responses than large stimuli across species and speeds. Our results thus suggest that background matching is effective even when stimuli are in motion, reducing the detectability of moving stimuli.

Diagnostic plots of cross-matches between Fermi-LAT (4FGL-DR4) and SRG/eROSITA sources (eRASS:4)

This repository provides diagnostic plots used for visual inspection accompanying the paper "Searching for X-ray counterparts of unassociated Fermi-LAT sources and rotation-powered pulsars with SRG/eROSITA" by Martin G. F. Mayer and Werner Becker, published in Astronomy & Astrophysics in 2024.

The attached tarball contains ~ 500 PDF files, one per Fermi source with at least one possible X-ray counterpart. In each file, the top row of panels displays the eROSITA (eRASS:4) X-ray image of the Fermi-LAT uncertainty region in the energy bands 0.2-0.6, 0.6-2.3, and 2.3-5.0 keV, overlaid with the 1 sigma (blue dashed line) and 95% error ellipse of the 4FGL source (blue solid line), and the position of the detected X-ray sources (red). The pixel size is 12 arcsec.

For each X-ray source, the bottom panels show the local distribution of optical sources from Gaia DR3 (left), mid-infrared sources from CatWISE2020 (center), as well as SIMBAD entries and radio sources (right) around the respective X-ray source position (error bars). In the left and center panels, the size of the markers is proportional to the source brightness, and their color reflects the photometric colors (with bluer markers indicating bluer colors). In the left panel, pentagonal (triangular) markers correspond to sources with statistically significant (insignificant) proper motion or parallax, circular markers indicate the lack of a complete astrometric solution for a source.

Seismic source location with a match field processing approach during the RESOLVE dense seismic array experiment on the Glacier d'Argentiere

This deposit contains the data set we used in our paper ‘Dynamic imaging of glacier structures at high-resolution using source localization with a dense seismic array’. The paper is in review for GRL and a preprint can be found here: 10.1002/essoar.10507953.1.

The dataset present here contains 34 files named ‘beam_15423_jd***.h5’. These files correspond to the output of the matched field processing for each day. They are in .h5 format and we provide a matlab code (read_MFP_data.m) to read these files. These files can be read with any other language since they are in . h5.

In linux you can use h5dump –A filename.h5 and you can see the content of each files.

More information on how the MFP process is conducted can be found in on the website dedicated to this aspect or on our paper.
