<p>Supplementary Material for the paper "Absolute dating of the European Neolithic using the 5259 BC rapid 14C excursion":</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Supplementary Information</strong>&nbsp;includes OxCal code, wiggle-matching output, photographs of the Neolithic juniper wood samples analysed, photographs of the tree-ring sampling for annual radiocarbon, photographs of modern tree-ring analogues, supplementary text on the data presented in the article, as well as the tree-ring width measurements in Heidelberg format (.fh).</p> <p><strong>Supplementary Data 1-2&nbsp;</strong>includes spreadsheets with all the new raw radiocarbon data presented in the article, the associated uncertainties and ring numbers.</p> <p><strong>Supplementary Data 3</strong> includes the R code and the source data used for the generation of Figures 3 and 5 in the main article text, as well as the OxCal code used for the wiggle-matching of annual 14C in OxCal as presented in Fiugre 5</p> <p>The latest version of the Supplementary Material is just an expanded version of the first, files have been renamed according to editorial guidlines, few extra figures, OxCal code, and extra information added after the review process. A dataset of archaeobotanical macroremains (staple crops) during the Neolithic and Bronze Ages in northern China

<p>Dataset of archaeobotanical macroremains includes a total of 538 flotation results from 381 sites with millets excavated during the Neolithic and Bronze Ages in northern China.&nbsp; Two steps of screening have been applied to eliminate inapplicable sites. The dataset only consisted of staple crops according to traditional Chinese agriculture: foxtail millet (Setaria italica), broomcorn millet (<em>Panicum miliaceum</em>), rice (<em>Oryza sativa</em>), wheat and barley (<em>Triticum aestivum</em> and <em>Hordeum vulgare</em>), and soybean (<em>Glycine max</em>). Informations of absolute counts and weights of staple crops, percentage of counts and weights for each site together with their locations and ages were assembled.</p>

A database for Spondylus gaederopus during the Neolithic of Europe

<p>Artefacts made of the Mediterranean mollusc Spondylus gaederopus are in the focus of archaeological research since the publication of the hoard of Bernburg, Germany, in 1885 by Rudolf Virchow. They are considered to be one of the first long distance exchange goods in Europe, as the distribution of Spondylus artefacts spreads between the Adriatic/Aegean Sea up to the Paris Basin during the Neolithic. While the dataset covers sites containing Spondylus between die Palaeolithic and the Iron Age, the artefacts are described in detail for the time frame of the widest distribution between 5500 and 5000 BC.<br> A total of 486 sites were recorded, but due to the question of early exchange systems, only 194 sites with 8037 artefacts were included in detail. These sites were selected because they coincide with the widest distribution between 5500 and 5000 BC. As the geographical distribution of the artefacts covers a large area and the research history has a long time span, the heterogeneous data had to be homogenized.</p>

Supplementary material for article: A database driven excavation of a waterlogged Neolithic settlement. The case of Küssnacht-Immensee Dorfplatz (Switzerland).

<p>These are all necessary data to produce 3D models of the excavated Neolithic waterlogged site of K&uuml;snacht-Immensee Dorfplatz in the Canton Schwyz in Switzerland. Sediment deposits and find amounts are given as tables for GIS use in the txt-files. The codes for the semiquantitative description of the sediment are explained in the codes-pdf. The database model for the data acquisition of the sediment deposits and finds is given as accdb. Piles and horizontal wooden elements are given in the excel-file.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sediment profile photographies and the readymade 3D-model are given separately in&nbsp;10.5281/zenodo.6536246.</p>
