Data from: Do evolutionary constraints on thermal performance manifest at different organizational scales?

The two foremost hypotheses on the evolutionary constraints on an organism's thermal sensitivity – the hotter-is-better expectation, and the specialist–generalist trade-off – have received mixed support from empirical studies testing for their existence. Could these conflicting results reflect confusion regarding the organizational level (i.e. species > population > individual) at which these constraints should manifest? We propose that these evolutionary constraints should manifest at different organizational levels because of differences in their underlying causes and requirements. The hotter-is-better expectation should only manifest across separate evolutionary units (e.g. species, populations), and not within populations. The specialist–generalist trade-off, by contrast, should manifest within as well as between separate evolutionary units. We measured the thermal sensitivity of sprint performance for 440 rainforest sun skinks (Lampropholis coggeri) representing 10 populations, and used the resulting performance curves to test for evidence for the hypothesized constraints at two organizational levels: (i) across populations and (ii) within populations. As predicted, the hotter-is-better expectation was evident only at the across-population level, whereas the specialist–generalist trade-off was evident within, as well as across, populations. Our results suggest that, depending on the processes that drive them, evolutionary constraints can manifest at different organizational levels. Consideration of these underlying processes, and the organizational level at which a constraint should manifest, may help resolve conflicting empirical results.

Presenting the Organizational Mentoring Model with the Talent Management Approach in the Ministry of Education

This research, which was conducted to provide an organizational mentoring model with a talent management approach in the Ministry of Education and Culture, is an exploratory type considered developmental and practical in terms of its purpose. In terms of data collection, it is of mixed type (qualitative and quantitative); in terms of data collection, it is descriptive-survey type. The statistical population of this research in the qualitative part includes all experts in the field of public administration and administrative affairs and senior managers and human resources in the Ministry of Education, 20 of whom were selected by judgmental and purposeful sampling. In the quantitative part, experts working in the Ministry of Education, have been selected as a statistical sample using Cochran's formula, using stratified random method according to the volume. The measuring tool of the research in the qualitative part was a semi-structured interview and in the quantitative part, it was a standard questionnaire, which was used to measure the validity of the questionnaires using the form and content method and to determine its reliability, Cronbach's alpha was calculated, and its value was estimated to be 0.974. Data analysis was done in the qualitative part by phenomenological method and in the quantitative part by using SPSS26 and SMART PLS4 software. The research results in the qualitative part led to a structural model. The results in the quantitative part also showed that in the education department, organizational culture plays a mediating role in the relationship between managers' support, organization strategy, talent conflict management, succession planning with individual factors of talent management, and organizational factors of talent management.

Assessing the influence of organizational factors on knowledge sharing in inter-firm collaborations

Collaborations between media organisations are becoming an increasingly common practice in the field of journalism. Academic research, so far, mostly focused on large-scale investigations and communities of digital outlets, such as fact-checkers networks. However, new types of inter-firm partnerships are emerging, namely between legacy media and tech startups, towards media innovation and digital transformation. The paper to which this database is connected aims to advance the theoretical understanding of the relationship between collaborations and media innovation. We formulate an original analytical model to assess the influence of organisational factors of collaborations on knowledge sharing, a key condition for explorative innovation. Based on the experience of the Stars4Media programme, we present an empirical application of the analytical model (based on this data-set) to a case study of thirty collaborative projects involving seventy-six European media companies.
