<p>As part of the<strong> AEQUIPA </strong>prevention research network, the aim of the <strong>PROMOTE II</strong> study was to gain insights into primary prevention for healthy aging. One focus was on the development and dissemination of ready-to-use tools and work aids to promote physical activity.</p><p>As part of a nine-month randomized trial with a cross-over design among adults aged 60 and above, eligible participants from 14 districts in Bremen in proximity to the two study centers (one in the North and one in the East of the city of Bremen, Germany) were randomly assigned to either a) a print-based intervention (PRINT) or b) a web-based intervention (WEB). Randomly selected thirty percent of the web-based intervention group received an activity tracker in addition (WEB+).</p><p>Usage of program components, attendance of group sessions and acceptance of the intervention were assessed via self-administered paper-based questionnaires three and nine months after baseline as well as feedback interviews and class recordings. Participant feedback was analyzed using quantitative methods on a descriptive basis, as well as using qualitative content analysis of open-ended questions, group-interviews and protocols based on the socio-ecological model as coding framework.</p><p>This publication provides the coding matrix, including the participant feedback data.</p>
Extended data for behavioural change for Parkinson's disease: A randomised controlled feasibility study to promote physical activity and exercise adherence among people with Parkinson's, study protocol
<p><strong>Background: </strong>Parkinson's is a common progressive neurological condition characterized by motor and non-motor deficits. Physical activity and exercise can improve health, but many people with Parkinson's have trouble reaching the recommended dosage. Our recent literature review found improvements in exercise adherence with behavioural change interventions, but it remains unclear which are most effective. Further qualitative research and patient and public involvement has informed a novel behavioural change support intervention to be tested alongside an existing exercise program.<strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Objective: </strong>To examine the feasibility of behavioural change support techniques delivered alongside an exercise programme to improve physical activity, function, and self-efficacy in PwP (and study procedures) to inform a future pilot RCT trial.<strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong>A parallel-arm single blinded randomised feasibility study. Twenty participants with Parkinson's (Hoehn and Yahr stage 1-3) will be recruited from a physiotherapy primary-care waiting list. Following written consent, and baseline assessment, the participants will be randomly allocated to the intervention (n=10) or the control group (n=10). Both groups will receive usual care, which includes a weekly program of a multidisciplinary education, a supervised exercise class and a prescribed home exercise program. The intervention group will receive additional behavioural change techniques, targeting behaviour regulation, belief about capabilities and social influences. Class and home exercise adherence, behavioural component uptake and adherence, and negative events will be recorded. Outcomes will include enrolment and maintenance rates, physical function, falls, physical activity, and exercise self-efficacy measured pre- and post- the 12- week program (in-person). Surveys will be used to compare experiences and satisfaction between groups. Exit interviews will be completed with the intervention group only, exploring their experience of the behavioural change techniques. </p> <p><strong>Discussion: </strong>The results will help inform a future pilot RCT, based on the intervention acceptability, consent rate, maintenance, and protocol integrity.</p>
NOAA PSL thermodynamic profiles retrieved from a combination of active and passive remote sensors and numerical weather prediction models with the optimal estimation physical retrieval TROPoe at Platteville, CO, USA
<p>This dataset contains retrieved profiles of thermodynamic variables obtained using the Tropospheric Remotely Observed Profiling via Optimal Estimation (TROPoe) physical retrieval from various combinations of input data collected by passive and active remote sensing instruments, in-situ surface platforms, and numerical weather prediction models deployed at the Platteville, CO, USA, site in fall 20221-winter 2022. Impact of a pulmonary rehabilitation program on social disadvantage and physical activity data of postCOVID19 patients: A North-African pilot study
<p><strong>WHAT IS ALREADY KNOWN</strong></p> <ul> <li>In post-acute COVID19, many patients still manifest symptoms for weeks and months.</li> <li>Psychological manifestations are prevalent and persisting in recovered COVID19 patients.</li> <li>Indeed, COVID19 was reported to possibly lead to symptoms of depression and anxiety, and to alter health-related quality of life (HRQoL).</li> <li>Physical activity has been proven to be effective in improving both mental and physical health.</li> <li>Thus, COVID19 patients could benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation program (PRP).</li> <li>Many studies related the effects of a standard PRP on physical activity and HRQoL in post COVID19 patients. However, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, no study evaluated the physical activity and social disadvantage of patients who were hospitalized for COVID19 in a low income country.</li> <li>This paper is the second part of a cross sectional study that aimed to evaluate the impact of a PRP on social disadvantage (physical activity, hospital anxiety and depression (HAD), HRQoL) data of Tunisian patients with postCOVID19.</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT THIS PAPER ADDS</strong></p> <ul> <li>The present North African study demonstrated that a PRP improved HRQoL, HAD, and physical activity data of Tunisian COVID19 patients.</li> <li>For instance, the means of the functional, psychological and relation dimensions, and the VQ11 total score (ie; main outcome) decreased significantly by 1.79, 2.00, 1.57, and 5.36 points. In addition, the means of the HAD anxiety and depression scores decreased significantly by 2.07, and 2.57 points, respectively, and the means of the physical activity and total scores improved significantly by 1.75 and 1.78 points, respectively.</li> <li>To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first African and Arab study investigating the impact of a PRP on postcovid19 patients in terms of social disadvantages and physical activity.</li> <li> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>This study confirms that an outpatient PRP program improves physical activity, psychological status and HRQoL in the management of postCOVID19 patients.</li> </ul>

Global Urban Activity Changes from COVID-19 Physical Distancing Restrictions Dataset: TRacking Anomalous COVID-19 induced changEs in NightTime Lights (TRACE-NTL)
<p>We use satellite-derived (NASA Black Marble) nighttime lights to identify, quantify, and map daily changes in human activity that are atypical for each urban area, globally, from the beginning of the pandemic until two years after its onset.
