The Double-Edged Sword Of Diversity: How Diversity, Conflict, and Psychological Safety Impacts Software Teams: Dataset and Supplementary Materials

<p>This bundle contains supplementary materials for an&nbsp;upcoming academic publication The Double-Edged Sword Of Diversity: How Diversity, Conflict, and Psychological Safety Impacts Software Teams, by Christiaan Verwijs and Daniel Russo.&nbsp;Included in the bundle are the dataset, SPSS syntaxes, and model definitions (AMOS).&nbsp;This replication package is made available by C. Verwijs under a "Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share-Alike 4.0 International"-license (CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0).</p><p><strong>About the dataset</strong></p><p>The dataset (SPSS) contains anonymized&nbsp;response data from 1.118 respondents aggregated into 161 (Agile) software teams that participated from the <a href="https://scrumteamsurvey.org">https://scrumteamsurvey.org</a>. Data was gathered between&nbsp;September 2021, and January 2022. We cleaned the individual&nbsp;response&nbsp;data from careless responses and removed all data that could potentially identify teams, individuals, or their parent organizations. Because we wanted to analyze our measures at the team level, we calculated a team-level mean for each item in the survey. Such aggregation is only justified when at least 10% of the variance exists at the team level (Hair, 2019), which was the case (ICC = 35-45%). No data was missing on the team level.</p><p>The dataset contains question labels and answer option definitions. To conform to the privacy statement of [scrumteamsurvey.org](https://scrumteamsurvey.org), the bundle does not include response data from before the team-level aggregation.</p><p><strong>About the model definitions</strong></p><p>The bundle includes&nbsp;definitions for Structural Equation Models (SEM) for AMOS. We added the iterations of the measurement model, four models used to perform a test for common method bias, and the path model that includes interactions. Indirect effects were calculated with the <a href="http://statwiki.gaskination.com/index.php?title=CFA">"Indirect Effects" plugin</a> for AMOS by James Gaskin.</p><p><strong>About the SPSS syntaxes</strong></p><p>The bundle includes the syntaxes we used to prepare the dataset from the raw import, as well as the syntax we used to generate descriptives. This is mostly there for other researchers to verify our procedure.</p>

Data from: Temporal dynamics in psychological assessments: a novel dataset with scales and response times

<p>This dataset is collected from February 27 to March 17, 2021, it includes responses from 24,292 students to four recognized psychological scales: PHQ-9, GAD-7, ISI, and PSS. A unique aspect of this dataset is the inclusion of response time data, which reflects the duration students took to answer each question. This temporal information offers a new dimension in understanding respondent behavior and enhances the reliability of these scales.</p>

Forbid/allow asymmetry in persuasion Social Psychology Experiments 1-3 data

<p>Data sheet file for the paper:&nbsp;<em>Forbid/allow asymmetry in persuasion: The forbid frame decreases biased elaboration and increases attitude change </em>(Social Psychology, 2022)</p> <p>Previous research showed that responses to questions about forbidding something differed from those to the seemingly equivalent questions about allowing the same object (forbid/allow asymmetry). We postulate that the effect of the forbid vs. allow framing may be also consequential for the processing of attitude related information and attitude change. The forbid frame (compared with the allow frame) may increase the impact of negative (vs. positive) arguments and/or reduce the impact of initial attitudes on the elaboration the presented information. To test these predictions we conducted three experiments (one preregistered, total N = 655). Participants were reading both pro and con arguments, differing in consistency with their initial attitudes, and concerning three different attitude objects: genetically modified organisms (GMOs), euthanasia, and barbecuing in public places. The results show that the forbid (vs. allow) frame decreases the tendency for generating thoughts prevailingly consistent with participants&rsquo; initial attitudes (Experiment 2). It also reduces bias in the evaluation and interpretation of the presented arguments and yields more similar assessments of arguments that are consistent and inconsistent with initial attitudes (Experiment 3). As a result, the attitudes are more susceptible to change within the forbid frame (they move more in the direction opposite to the initial attitude) than within the allow frame (Experiments 1-3). The results for the first time show the existence of forbid vs. allow asymmetry in persuasion. This effect has practical consequences, e.g. when designing referenda.</p>

The role of rehabilitation and vitamin D supplementation on motor and psychological outcomes in poststroke patients.

<p>Post-Stroke depression affects between 12% and 72% of patients who have suffered a stroke. The association between low serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH) D) and increased risk of depression is reported in both stroke and non-stroke patients. Similarly, high 25(OH) D levels might be associated with greater functional improvement during rehabilitation program.</p> <p>We wanted to investigate the effects of an intensive rehabilitation on poststroke outcomes. We wondered if the daily rehabilitation of motor and cognitive functions could also have an effect on mood and functional abilities in addition to or as an alternative to vitamin D supplementation.</p> <p>We conducted a 12-week, randomized trial, double blind, parallel, monocentric clinical trial of 40 patients undergoing intensive neuro-rehabilitation treatment at a specialized care facility for ischemic or hemorrhagic brain stroke. Participants were randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to 1 of 2 parallel groups: in the experimental group, 2000 IU/day of oral cholecalciferol was administered; in the control group patients were not taking vitamin D supplementation. Patients underwent a text evaluation to investigate psychological and motor outcomes.</p> <p>Significant intra-group difference in outcomes measures was found but not between control group and experimental group. In the vitamin D group, we highlighted significant differences between T0 and T1 in calcium (<em>P</em> &lt; .001), vitamin D (<em>P</em> &lt; .001), in Montgomery Aasberg Depression Rating Scale (<em>P</em> = .001), and in Functional Independent Measures (<em>P</em> &lt; .001). In the health control group, we found a significant difference in calcium (<em>P</em> = .003), vitamin D (<em>P</em> &lt; .001), Montgomery Aasberg Depression Rating Scale (<em>P</em> = 0.006), in general self-efficacy (<em>P</em> = .009), and in Functional Independent Measures (<em>P</em> &lt; .001).</p> <p>Our results show that the beneficial effect on mood and functional recovery is mainly due to neurorehabilitation rather than vitamin D supplementation.</p>

Clustering of psychological profiles of primary school pupils

<p>Traditionally, arbitrary psychological research on different types of student activities uses certain sets of tests that reflect different states of students. These states are defined on the basis of certain criteria, the values of which are usually reflected by numerical scales with different intervals. Table 1 provides a list of these profiles and their factors, evaluation criteria with corresponding scales. Table 2 presents generalized results of testing of primary school pupils of the 2nd grade.&nbsp;<br> Due to the fact that the whole study is implemented on the basis of certain psychological profiles, which we also interpret as hyperproperties, in our case they are the receptors.&nbsp;<br> So the psychological profile of school motivation as a hyper-property defines five receptors, namely:&nbsp;<br> school motivation_high level&nbsp;<br> school motivation_good school motivation&nbsp;<br> school motivation_positive attitude to school<br> school motivation_low school motivation&nbsp;<br> school motivation_negative attitude to school<br> The protocol of cluster formation with receptor names is given in the file result of clustering.rtf</p> <p>Традиційно довільне психологічне дослідження різних видів діяльності учнів використовує певні набори тестів, які відображають різні стани учнів. The Intersection of Tibetan Buddhism & Western Psychology: A Cultural Immersion Study

<p>Data Set used for qualitative research project re: Intersection of Buddhism and Western Psychology.<br> <br> Abstract:&nbsp;Western psychology has a long history of incorporating Buddhist practices and traditions into aspects of treatment, perhaps most predominantly the practice and theory of mindfulness (Bankart, 2003; Chan-Wiles, 2013; Dryden &amp; Still, 2006; Kress, 1993; Rhys-Davids, 1924). This qualitative study critically examines the integration of Buddhism and psychology through the lived experiences of four clinical psychology doctoral students. These students attended a 9-day meditation retreat and seminar in France which involved the study of Tibetan Buddhism and how it integrates with Western psychology. The lived experience was captured through in vivo journaling, retrospective journaling, and interviews between the students. This material was then analyzed using the Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) procedure outlined by Hill (2012), which incorporates phenomenological grounded theory and comprehensive process analysis (Hill et al., 2005). Four themes were identified: acceptance as an aspect of creating change, greater awareness for the concepts of Buddhism, Bodhicitta and the value of suffering, and integrating the experience and carrying it forward. The content of these themes is explored, along with implications for increased cultural sensitivity and clinical effectiveness in the implementation of mindfulness practices and other Tibetan Buddhist concepts in the practice of Western psychology.</p>
