Underground Roman Aqueduct in Mérida, Spain
📍 [Merida, Badajoz](https://scaniver.se/L38.94904,-6.33888) This underground roman aqueduct, called Rabo de Buey, located in Mérida (Spain) still works as it was envisioned by the Romans two thousand years ago. Mérida (or Emerita Augusta, as it was called during Roman times) was supplied with water by two aqueducts, which went underground outside of the city. This capture represents one of the accesses to the running water, that Romans used to control the flow and ensure the cleaness of the water. Roman Basilica at Carranque, Spain
Carranque is the site of a 4th century Roman villa that is protected as an archeological park by the Castile-La Mancha government. The "Villa of Maternus Cinigius", the uncle of Theodosius, is the primary building. Theodosius I, the Roman emperor, who was born in Hispania. The site is located by the River Guadarrama, near a Roman road. It seems to be near the lost city of Titultiam. The basilica at Carranque is typical of Governor's palaces. There were 32 marble columns from the emperor's private quarries in Chios in Greece. Later it was converted for early Christian cults, then Visigothic use, followed by use during the Islamic period and then by Knights Templars. This model was created from 2150 images captured with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0. These images were processed in RealityCapture with some additional mesh processing in Geomagic Wrap.
