Activity based synthetic population of residents for Gothenburg, Sweden

A synthetic population is a distribution of synthetic agents that replicates the demographic distribution of a real-world population according to census records.
This dataset contains a synthetic population of residents in the city of Gothenburg in Sweden, along with activity schedules and mobility patterns for 2019. The synthetic population model is designed for applications in neighbourhood planning and includes detailed replicas of people in different neighbourhoods of Gothenburg organized as persons, households, houses, buildings, and daily activity chains. While the persons, households, and houses are synthetic replicas, they are connected to existing buildings.
The model considers the allocation of primary and secondary locations based on a gravity model, realistic routing for active, public and private motorised modes of transportation and allows users to introduce new buildings and amenities if needed. The population data is provided as an SQLite3 database file for each neighbourhood of Gothenburg.

Timeline of government interventions and events regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden December 31, 2019, to May 5, 2023.

The Swedish approach to managing the COVID-19 pandemic has received significant attention in international scholarly work and the press. For this dataset, we have reviewed governmental and media archives to build a detailed timeline that chronicles significant policies, interventions, and events in the Swedish management of COVID-19. The dataset contains summary descriptions of what took place, when it happened, and who the principal actors involved were. Links to primary sources are provided for each entry. Because of the level of detail and saturation, the dataset offers a detailed account of Swedish pandemic governance and will benefit anyone working on Swedish pandemic management or doing comparative work between Sweden and other jurisdictions.

The dataset contains details on the date an event took place (column 1), tags to facilitate navigation (column 2), details on the principal actors involved in the event (column 3), a summary description of what took place and who was involved (column 4), and links to primary materials (e.g., archival entries) (columns 4-12). Through a structured and detailed outline, the dataset provides a saturated account of policy interventions and events in Sweden during the COVID-19 pandemic for the period 2020-2023 until it was no longer considered a public health emergency of international concern by the WHO and complements existing and less detailed timelines published at earlier points in the period.

Virus operational taxonomic units (vOTUs) from Stordalen Mire, Sweden

This file is a collection of 5,051 virus operational taxonomy units (vOTUs) that were identified from samples collected from Stordalen Mire, a long-term ecological research site in Abisko, Sweden. Peat soil was sampled from the active layer across 3 different thaw stages (palsa, bog, and fen) between 2010-2017. From 379 bulk metagenomes, virus sequences were identified in silico using VirSorter1 (with additional stringent filtering criteria). Virus sequences above 5kb in length were then clustered into vOTUs (using a threshold of 95% identity and 80% coverage). This vOTU dataset is the basis of a research paper, entitled 'Virus ecology and 7-year temporal dynamics across a permafrost thaw gradient,' (Sun and Pratama, et al., in prep.), which provides insights into permafrost viruses and their role in terrestrial carbon cycling.

FUNDING:

This research is a contribution of the EMERGE Biology Integration Institute (https://emerge-bii.github.io/), funded by the National Science Foundation, Biology Integration Institutes Program, Award # 2022070.
We thank the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat and SITES for the support of the work done at the Abisko Scientific Research Station. Fig. 45 in The cephalopods of the Boda Limestone, Late Ordovician, of Dalarna, Sweden

Fig. 45. Hypothesis about the phylogenetic relationship of selected Ascocerida and Barrandeocerida. Note the phylogenetic trend of decoiling in ascocerids. The diversification of ascocerids occurred during the late Mid Ordovician. Star = truncation; 1 = thin subcentral siphuncle with orthocerid-like thin connecting ring; 2 = uncoiling. The close phylogenetic relationship between the uranoceratid Warburgoceras gen. nov. and ascocerids is based on the general similarity of shell shape, ornamentation, sipho-position and connecting ring shape of Redpathoceras Flower, 1963. Note also that Montyoceras titaniforme Flower, 1941 is larger, more rapidly expanding and more strongly coiled than the type of the genus, and thus much more similar to Redpathoceras. Figures of Hebetoceras Flower, 1941; Montycoceras Flower, 1941; Probillingsites Flower, 1941; Billingsites Hyatt, 1884; Schuchertoceras Miller, 1932; and Ascoceras Barrande, 1847 are modified from Kesling (1961). Figures of Choanoceras Lindström, 1890 are based on Furnish & Glenister (1964a); those of Deckeroceras Foerste, 1935 and Barrandeoceras Flower, 1950 are based on Sweet (1964a).
