Improving quality of life among healthy individuals through theatre activities: a theatre-in-health pilot project
<p><strong>Background</strong></p> <p>Review of previous studies regarding arts and health reveals knowledge gaps regarding the use of theatre activities outside a clinical setting with healthy participants. The purpose of this study was to evaluate quality of life benefits of structured theatre training improvisations among generally healthy individuals.</p> <p><strong>Methods</strong></p> <p>A mixed methods approach was used at three theatre activities workshops. Pre- and post-quality of life surveys were completed at administered at each workshop. workshop. Participants also free wrote after the workshops, reflecting on their experiences.</p> <p><strong>Results</strong></p> <p>The surveys showed that there was a statistically significant shift in a positive direction in each domain studied. Themes that emerged from the free-writing responses were those of play, social acceptance, gratitude, and community.</p> <p><strong>Conclusions</strong></p> <p>Findings demonstrate that structured theatre activities produce quality of life benefits across all domains. This pilot study indicates the potential for such theatre-in-health projects as a tool for quality of life improvement.</p>

Grand Theatre, Lebanon
Le Grand Théâtre, Lebanon aka the Grand Théâtre des Mille et Une Nuits (Arabian Nights) was a theatre located in downtown Beirut, Lebanon. The structure is currently abandonned. During the Lebanese civil war the building was used for various purposes (pornographic movies projection, field hospital). It was damaged and was progressively abandoned due to the heavy fighting in the area. Data from: Comparing safety climate for nurses working in operating theatres, critical care and ward areas in the UK: a mixed methods study
Objectives: The main aim of the study was to explore the potential sources of variation and understand the meaning of safety climate for nursing practice in acute hospital settings in the UK. Design: A sequential mixed methods design included a cross-sectional survey using the Safety Climate Questionnaire (SCQ) and thematic analysis of focus group discussions. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to validate the factor structure of the SCQ. Factor scores were compared between nurses working in operating theatres, critical care and ward areas. Results from the survey and the thematic analysis were then compared and synthesised. Setting: A London University. Participants: 319 registered nurses working in acute hospital settings completed the SCQ and a further 23 nurses participated in focus groups. Results: CFA indicated that there was a good model fit on some criteria (χ2 = 1683.699, df 824, p < 0.001; χ2/ df = 2.04; RMSEA = 0.058) but a less acceptable fit on Comparative Fit Index (CFI) = 0.804. There was a statistically significant difference between clinical specialisms in Management Commitment (F [4,266] = 4.66, p = 0.001). Nurses working in operating theatres had lower scores compared with ward areas and they also reported negative perceptions about management in their focus group. There was significant variation in scores for Communication across clinical specialism (F [4,266] = 2.62, p = 0.035) but none of the pair-wise comparisons achieved statistical significance. Thematic analysis identified themes of Human Factors, Clinical Management and Protecting Patients. The System and the Human Side of Caring was identified as a meta-theme. Conclusions: The results suggest that the SCQ has some utility but requires further exploration. The findings indicate that safety in nursing practice is a complex interaction between safety systems and the social and interpersonal aspects of clinical practice.
Theatre Hallway (DStretch)
In the past, this hallway served as an entrance to the Château de La Roche-Guyon. In the 18th Century, it also served as an entrance to the theatre. This was the hall where guests would wait before entering the theatre for performances. As such, there is a considerable amount of graffiti. The underground theater was constructed in 1768 by the Duchess of Enville. The theater could host 40-50 guests for performances. Château de La Roche-Guyon was built in the 12th century, controlling a river crossing of the Seine. In the mid-13th century, a fortified manor house (the château-bas) was added below. The domain of La Roche-Guyon came to the La Rochefoucauld family in 1669. The Château retained its medieval aspect of a fortress, with its moat and towers and cramped, dark living apartments. The Château was largely extended in the 18th century. Ancient Theatre, Sagalassos, Turkey
The theatre at Sagalassos, Turkey, was built between 120 and 190 CE, possibly preceded by an earlier construction in the Hellenistic tradition. Its construction was stopped by the end of the second century CE, with parts of the seating unfinished and a stage area of only one story. It could seat thousands of spectators. In this model one can also visualize the corridor behind the theatre seating. This model was constructed from 4520 photos (Phantom 4 Pro [20mpx], Sony A7iii [24mpx], A7riii [45mpx], and Leica Q2 [47mpx]) and 232 Faro S70 laser scans. The model was processed in Reality Capture. The data were collected by Global Digital Heritage in August 2019, as part of the University of Leuven Sagalassos Archaeological Research Project and supported by the Global Heritage Fund. Theatre and Amphitheatre of Merida Part 2
Point cloud uniform and edit. The large Roman theater of Merida was constructed between 15 and 16 century BC and the adjacent amphitheater was built in the 8th century BC. The amphitheater has an elliptical shape with an arena of 64 meters by 41 meters used for gladiatorial contests and 15,000 spectators and has lowest, middle and upper tier rows for the ruling classes and the commoners. La modificación de la ley permitiría el uso de distintos químicos y sustancias tóxicas posibilitando la localización de emprendimientos mineros en una provincia con serio déficit hídrico. El domingo 22 de diciembre de 2019, miles de mendocinos comenzaron una caminata hacia la ciudad de Mendoza desde distintas localidades, algunas ubicadas a 100 km de distancia. La movilización reclamó la no modificación de la Ley 7722 que protege las fuentes de agua. En este marco, el grupo de Teatro Revolucionario realizó algunas intervenciones en las calles de la ciudad de Mar del Plata. Consideramos que el arte no es solamente un producto estético para exhibir, sino también una herramienta de comunicación y de expresión de las luchas populares. Desde una práctica de trabajo comunitario, Teatro Revolucionario entiende el arte como una posibilidad para interpelar, para decir lo que debe ser escuchado y desnaturalizar lo instalado, como un territorio que fomente una conciencia crítica, la organización y liberación del pueblo.</p>
